That's exactly what they're saying when they're talking about how "unreachable" Sony's position is lmao.

Acting like they dont already own huge brands like Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable that they've been afraid to innovate with for years.

Not even innovating, they too afraid to pour money into something else. Pure corporate strategy of milking existing shyt.

You really trying to make this new catchphrase stick, huh? Put it in the bin with leasy’s “Sharons” :mjlol:

The fact is that microsoft spent the last decade putting out the same 3 franchises, halo, gears, and forza, they even created 3 studios for the sole purpose of keeping those franchises going when two of the previous ones left (and found greater success like a knicks player) for greener pastures.

The few games that Microsoft put out outside of those 3 franchises were spectacular failures. Crackdown 3, Ryse Son of Rome, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Scalebound which didn’t even launch…etc

They didn’t fail because they didn’t have street fighter 5
Sony had two if not 3 generations of the whole industry working on there systems as one big happy family.

Some of playstations most memorable games aren't 1st party games at all or legit co developed projects (which apparently never happens)

And most of the memorable ones haven't been seen in years outside of the money makers.

Stop acting like Sony built itself up all on it's lonesome, it's a bold face lie.

They had plenty and I mean plenty of L's they've caught there stride as far as 1st party goes with the PS4.

But they shot a ton of bricks y'all just conveniently forget about them

5 generations of putting out good games and good 3rd party games and building relationships.

Microsoft are 4 generations, 20 years deep theres literally no excuse for them to be in the situation they’re in, especially after having such a gigantic head start with the 360. We spare no pity for Microsoft

Fixed

Here we go again with "Building relationship" :russ:

A gigantic start is having a whole generation lead as well as every gaming company besides Nintendo developing on your system.

That's a gigantic lead.

I think getting burned by Kinect and Peter Molyneaux's bullshyt was a big factor in Xbox refusing to take risks by investing into new genres and experiences. Not only that, but MS has always been the type of company to watch someone else go through the trial and error first, and then replicate their winning strategy when they finally figure something out. We see it in gaming with how they started chasing their own Uncharted game after Sony's success with the Uncharted franchise.

But man, at a certain period of time, Halo was way bigger than COD, BF, and any other competing shooter franchise at the time. MS allowed all these other shooters to lap Halo due to lack of innovation in the Halo franchise. Same shyt applies with Gears, Fable, etc.

This is why I hate arguing with you

The first sentence in that statement specifically mentions microsoft making games exclusive to Xbox or gamepass.
And then the rest of the like 8 paragraphs talks about gamepass and cloud.

Go back and read your own post. There are bullet points 27-35.

One of them talks about the game being exclusive.

6 of them talk about subscription services and cloud

The last paragraph explains that microsoft has a deadline to address all the concerns listed in the inquiry.

Microsoft and ABK have until 8 September 2022 to offer an undertaking which might be accepted by the CMA. If no such undertaking is offered, or the CMA decides that any undertaking offered is insufficient to remedy its concerns to the phase 1 standard, then the CMA will refer the Merger for an in-depth phase 2 investigation pursuant to sections 33(1) and 34ZA(2) of the Act.

The inquiry has just entered phase 2 for a deeper investigation because Microsoft never responded to their demands.

You can keep spinning it but I'm not going back and forth with you over this.
You don’t know what microsoft offered. Again there’s like 30 concerns and ONE of them is about making the game exclusive.

If anything, i’m sure microsoft is fighting against the concerns about gamepass and cloud. They have already said on multiple occasions they have no intention of removing the game from playstation.

If you look at playstions own statements. They say nothing about making the game exclusive.

Sony said:
By giving Microsoft control of Activision games like Call of Duty, this deal would have major negative implications for gamers and the future of the gaming industry,"
So here, Sony says NOTHING about the game being exclusive.:ohhh:

Even in Sony’s own official statement to the Brazilian regulatory body. Sony says NOTHING about the game being exclusive.

Sony speaking with Brazil's regulatory body when asked about Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard answered several questions including its thoughts on Xbox Game Pass, as spotted by ResetEra.

Sony says that over the past five years, Xbox Game Pass has grown to capture around 60 to 70 percent of the worldwide subscription services market. Xbox Game Pass in Brazil represents 70 to 80 percent of the PC subscription services market.

The company believes it would take "several years" for a competitor to create a rival for Xbox Game Pass, even with substantial investments.

Sony has says subscription services can compete with games purchase for a one-time fee, but thinks the lowest upfront costs of subscription services might be "anti-competitive." This is in comparison to publishers who recoup investments in games by selling them for an upfront cost.

Now be honest, what does it look like the major concern is when it comes to this acquisition?

In the statements regarding referral to phase 2.

"On 6 September 2022, Microsoft informed the CMA that it would not offer such undertakings to the CMA."
“Sources familiar with the situation told the FT that Microsoft believed there were no obvious commitments it could make that the CMA would be likely to accept.”

There’s nothing they could say other than they won’t make the game exclusive.

They are just gonna have to go on with their investigation :manny:

I do agree with @MeachTheMonster i dont think microsoft wants to pull CoD off playstation but they will use it as leverage in the future once the contract is up for other things. Sony basically wants to avoid having to do more deals with the devil in the future so they want it laid out right now for the world to see aka put it in blood.
