Either way, MS has been using all the same strategies of getting timed exclusives as Sony has. Stalker 2, The Medium, Tomb Raider, all those Game Pass indies, etc are all games that are timed exclusive. I'm pretty sure Scorn is timed exclusive too.

Times exclusive is not equal to blocking and penalizing companies for putting games on said system

And somehow one has the market share lead by a unreachable amount almost and the other sitting comfortably in 3rd.

So again is this deal making them a monopoly or not? Are they going to shoot up and 1st in 1, 2, 5 years time because of call of duty?

The reason xbox doesn’t have games isn’t due to sony buying timed exclusivity for 4-5 games, its because of gross mismanagement of their own first party development studios

The fact is that microsoft spent the last decade putting out the same 3 franchises, halo, gears, and forza, they even created 3 studios for the sole purpose of keeping those franchises going when two of the previous ones left (and found greater success like a knicks player) for greener pastures.

The few games that Microsoft put out outside of those 3 franchises were spectacular failures. Crackdown 3, Ryse Son of Rome, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Scalebound which didn’t even launch…etc

They didn’t fail because they didn’t have street fighter 5

Now where does it say microsoft refuses to ensure the game won’t be exclusive?

If you actually read what’s here they and sony are more concerned about gamepass and cloud streaming.

In a world where cloud and subscription service takes over, microsoft would be the insurmountable market leader. COD could lead them to that.

And thats how you know all of you including sony are full of shyt. This isn’t about “consolidation” or exclusive games, or microsoft buying a publisher.

By sony’s own statement it’s about Microsoft “being in control” of COD.

They know they can’t compete with what Microsoft offers through gamepass and cloud services.

That’s what this whole fight is about.

The inquiry has just entered phase 2 for a deeper investigation because Microsoft never responded to their demands.
