Why yall hate Perk? He's a former player giving you a different perspective. He's close to some of these players.... Just a thought.

These brothas are actually in a position of power where they can make a real impactful difference. A random breh quitting his job isn't ruffling any feathers, just stop.

We're talking about potential trillions for ALL OF US. If these dudes go out here and tap dance for massa, sacrifice our trillions for their millions then they can enjoy those millions without a people because they'll be dead to the black community.

I don’t understand what you’re saying.

But let me ask you this, realistically what do you see changing starting today until the next season in December?

Who do you think going to carry the financial repercussions from them canceling the season not the billion owners, the black men who play in those leagues. Soon as the MLB and the players come to a agreement they’ll start their season. The NFL everything is going according to plans. So the NBA canceling their season would mean nothing. They didn’t suspend the league because of police brutality and social reform. They suspended it over Covid-19. We been needing social reform for 700 years now and it’s never happened because the system is built for systematic oppression. White people been benefitting and profiting from systematic oppression for 700 years. They’re not incentivized to change it. I don’t understand why the onus is placed on the people who have been oppressed to change the views of the people of oppressing them. That’s why I don’t understand the whole distraction argument. Black people been educating white people on racism for hundreds of years. It’s a reason why every time we say black lives matter, they say all lives matter, it’s a reason why every time we talk about police brutality, they say what about black on black crime. You can’t change someone who doesn’t want to change. They are willfully ignorant because benefit off this current system. If y’all want real change it starts with local elections and goes up from there. You gotta put people in offices who share your same beliefs. Why do you somebody as unqualified as Trump was, ended up becoming president because his racism beliefs resonated with a lot of closet racist people.

I agree with Chris 1000%. There has to be actionable plans or demands and not just emotion. Fix racism isn't a plan, its a goal.

When the perspective is as simple as "he mad coz he can't sit on the bench" he's better off keeping it to himself. What difference does it make if he's on the bench or not, he's literally not playing a minute of basketball if the season continues.

He's been taking jabs at Kyrie for leaving LeBron, took jabs at him a few months ago during a live broadcast of a Celtics game for leaving Boston, and took jabs when Kyrie accepted the vice president role. So either Kyrie is disgusting for hiding a trip to Disney World behind racial issues or Perkins is disgusting for using up sound waves for that fukk shyt, nobody gives a fukk about being a former player, his credibility is in question period.

And because I don't feel like making a double post, although it applies to Perkins, it's sad when a old white man sounds like he cares more black people than actual black people.

you can tell here in thecoli by how people post that many have little to no idea of actionable plans or demands in this situation. In one convo I had here the most the other person could come up with is for the owners to denounce racism, which while that would be good doesnt address real life issues

NBA players boycotting will be a story for a week at most. Why ?
Because the NFL preseason starts a week later :dead:. Y’all really think they’ll spend time on this shyt when sports media can do what they do best which is talk NFL all day???What you think is going to be more newsworthy Giannis at home or the protests during Cowboys -Steelers ?

This shyt here is the textbook definition of playing checkers while thinking you’re playing chess

Nobody outside of America cares about football. The world watches basketball. The world is watching America now.

Because Perk's character has been in question ever since he joined sports media. He's been taking shots at Kyrie, KD and a lot of the players against returning even BEFORE this issue, hell, even before coronavirus, so he is clearly speaking from a biased perspective.

These nyggas need to step up

Gain control of amateur basketball
Push the youth towards HBCU’s
Create more black sports agencies
Only hire black b-ball trainers
Etc

Let’s keep all this b-ball money in house
