So are you really trying to argue that if the NBA players boycotted the season it wouldn't serve as a huge statement around the entire globe? You don't think it would give more momentum and fuel on the need to make serious change now instead of just waiting?

I know some people just wanna be selfish and get their little bit of entertainment. But anyone with sense knows that an NBA boycott would be HISTORIC and show everyone this is a new day when it comes to black empowerment.
Nah. Because

1. Americas favorite league, the NFL begins their pre-season a week later.

2. The NBA has already been paused for months. I dont think boycotting a paused league would cause the waves like theyd intend it to, basketball is already out the mind of the casual fan.

3. Riots and protests is what got a foot on their neck. Like chapelle said the streets are talking for themselves. Peaceful gestures got us no where.

The NBA needs show the players the financial projections for next year with no fans. Because once you take into account the money and the likelihood of less money on the table I think the players might change the tune to all of this. The players should be asking about their health and money at this point in time. I do believe that the NBA should scrap their season and start to look ahead to next season. If the NBA is having issues with this, I wonder how bad the NFL and college football are going to struggle trying to figure this out with 50 people to a team. Soccer, tennis and golf seemed the most poised to play without delay going forward.

man y’all don’t know wtf you’re talking about just stop posting on the subject

nba lost millions over that China shyt, lost more millions with the suspended season they aren’t shutting down for 2 years :what:
You misread my comment and tone. I just stated a fact and then said that if they have an issue with restarting now, they should hypothetically have an issue for the next 2 years because Covid-19 is not going anywhere soon

I've been trying to hammer this point home. If they can't do a bubble with 22 teams (down to 16 after two weeks of games and cutting in half again every two weeks), they damn sure won't be able to do a full season with all 30 teams in a quarantine situation.

I’m sure that they are well aware of the financial implications of it and have been from the beginning. It’s bigger than money.

Man it's their damn job. Like the waitresses, the transit workers, the delivery drivers, etc etc. You get paid to do a job. And paid in the top .05 percent of people in the country. Spare me with the sympathy shyt. Same mafukkas getting paid millions to play basketball, go to the store and interact with cashiers making 1/1000 of their salary. But naw they need to be ore careful. fukk outta here.
Exactly....so what, do we just stop watching sports until civil rights is settled and done.....c’mon:stopitslime:

now all the bubble concerns I get....but the George floyd situation is now set in stone in the fabric of America, nba players playin ball will not shift that fact to the left or right

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Man, some of y’all are dumb as fukk. If history (even recent history: see BLM 2016-2017, Occupy Wall Street, Obama “change” etc.) has shown us ANYTHING it’s that if you don’t capitalize and invoke real change while the community is galvanized - the movement and energy that fed the movement will fizzle, and the status quo will remain. Movements/reformation needs consistent fuel to stay ablaze. Kyrie is right. The time is now. Not 400 years ago. Not 400 years from now. Not two years from now nor 20. All entertainment is escapism in some form or fashion. That’s natural. But, this black people being shoehorned and marginalized into second class citizenship shyt? That’s unnatural. And like an unnatural body that enters the blood stream - that shyt gotta go immediately.

I don’t even know how a black person could have any opposition towards Kyrie’s stance; but this is the Coli.

Its not that simple. You can be black and still know that wars are won with strategy and not emotion. Most protests already seem to be dying down. In 45 days they could be completely done. I think people put too much importance on basketball. Most racists don’t care about it much at all to begin with compared to the NFL, MLB and NHL which will all continue as planned.

I’m with whatever but I’d hate to see these dudes cut off their nose to spite their face here.

The shyt has already fizzled some from two weeks ago.The energy isn’t the same or as intense .Imagine a month from now .

The NBA suspending its season would have minimal ,if any impact on the movement.

If the NBA doesn’t come back something will just fill the void .

If these players wanted to make an impact they could’ve been out there from day 1 like Jaylen Brown,Lonnie Walker and DSJ but nikkas was sitting on their hands .

but they think sitting out a month from now is some grand statement that’s going to show white people they mean business?? When NASCAR,Golf,NHL,UFC,MLB and possibly NFL/NCAA training camps are going on ? All they would be doing is setting back black men from gaining wealth and destroying any leverage they have in negotiations
