So you buy an M.2 SSD device that meets standard but there is no guarantee it will work

Xbox SSD is a smart short term solution. The problem will come when you need to get a SSD larger than 1Tb. Segate/MS will have to make a bigger memory card to add a 2nd NAND and it will still even more than it is now.

yah it will start being evident soon

I don’t anticipate I’ll need more than 2TB of storage, will you? On my PS5 and Series X I plan to add 1TB to each and call it good. Beyond that point I’ll manage the memory and delete unneeded games.

im still not sure if i need to upgrade. I dont have any space hogging games like call of duty and whatever on my playstation. Right now I have about 15 games installed (like 3 actively playing) and 103.9 GB left. By the time I download iki island expansion, psychonauts 2, FIST, Kena, Death Stranding again...i'd probably be at my limit again, and at that point I can go ahead and delete a big game.

I guess i'll see how i feel about it next year when the bigger games like GoW, Horizon, PSVR2, Final Fantasy, etc. start dropping. By then im sure a 1TB SSD will be a lot cheaper.

If you tinker with your own PC this is child's play

I'll likely get either the WD Black or the Samsung 980 without the heat sink and buy my own to save a bit of money.

Where can you buy WD Black or the Samsung 980 from? which is the best to buy from?.
