Yes breh when he started he was a nerdy high school student no one is arguing that. In fact, I said that. I'm saying he hasn't been nerdy since high school ended. He graduated college and he grew up. That's my issue with Tobey in spider-man 2 and 3 is that he never grew up from nerdy 16 year old to confident college adult. Peter graduated high school, shyt changed and its been different since. In Ultimate Spider-Man, he stayed in high school for his time in the series but he was never "nerdy" to the same degree that he was in the 60s, his nerdiness was redefined. I've said the shyt time and time again. Y'all dudes want him to remain static as a character but he hasn't been that since the 60s, move on, let it go
Breh. These dudes don't know Spidey. You're wasting your fukking time, as a true fan of the character to another, you're wasting your fukking time with these dudes. They have their opinion, based off of lies and shytty generalizations of the character, but its their opinion nonetheless. Aaaaaaand they're obviously gonna stick to it. No use debating it anymore.

Sorry but Cap 2 holds and eats into it's audience. The young adults(men in particular) didn't come back for/weren't interested in Spider-Man. That's why they all flocked to Neighbours. They definitely would have come back for Cap, which means Neighbours opens up much lower.

With a whopping $200M marketing budget and brand appeal it should have beaten Cap 2 by a landslide, but that's not going to happen. Cap will finish with around $720M(Great for a C+ character that no one had heard of fours years ago), Spider-Man around the same :mjlol:, how far the mighty has fallen since the unnecessary reboot. It might even lose out to an X-MEN movie :laff: if Days of Future Past opens to the high numbers that it's currently being said to be tracking at.
no one had heard of captain america four years ago? yeah we're done here.

Your girlfriend is in really into chuck Norris and Adam sander?
WTF are you talking about bruh. Comic book movies are definitely geared towards the family demographic.

The character had a lack of mainstream exposure compared to the likes of Spider-Man, Batman, X-MEN etc, even Iron Man who had cartoon series. Captain America wasn't as unknown as say The Guardians of The Galaxy, however most people didn't give a crap about the character before the 2011 film. The name "Steve Rogers" was unheard of, the name "Captain America" not as much but still relatively unknown, especially internationally. Now Captain America films are grossing more than Superman films and Spider-Man films :mjlol:.

I think even "relatively unknown" might be pushing it too far. Sure he wasn't always a household name but at the very least I think Cap was always apart of the collective consciousness whether or not you were a comic book reader.

Do you want to know the big reason why Disney bought both Marvel and Stars Wars? it's because they primarily appeal to the male demographic, young boys, young teens and young male adults. A market/demo that they couldn't tap into beforehand hence why they threw $8B to acquire those franchises. They make up about 60% of these films audiences.

Superhero movies are for anyone with an imagination. It doesn't matter how old you are.

Superman was birthed in 1938 so that means we now have maybe 3-4 generations of men who were raised on superheroes as children.

I'm sure there's still lots of people out who don't mind taking 2 hours out of their day to relive their childhood.
