this is all true for coal miners, correct? beautiful, clean coalNow we're at the stage where we concern troll about union bosses. Union leaders have tough jobs too. They're the ones negotiating better wages and working conditions for thousands of workers against powerful corporate entities. It's just like how CEOs get paid for their leadership. It makes sense for union leaders to be compensated fairly too. I could understand those concerns if they weren't delivering for the workers, but all signs say they do. If members are getting better pay, benefits, and protections, then the leadership is doing its job.
And before the usual suspects start in, I do have a problem with corporate CEOs for making ridiculous amounts money while their workers barely get by. It's a stupid comparison to make, because CEOs are making millions by keeping wages low, cutting benefits, laying people off, and engaging in stock buy-backs to boost profits at the expense of those workers. Union leaders are actually out there actually fighting for workers to get better pay and conditions. It makes no sense to be okay with CEO pay, but not union bosses being compensated well. At least they're fighting for workers to be paid well too.
instead of making way for better technology, coal miners are owed their jobs, and a bigger portion of coal profits?
