Not disputing plenty of the problems in the churches taking the most money, but...

I know the pastor for my church growing up didn't just show up to preach sundays. A real pastor is a full time job
- Doing funerals
- weddings
- Visiting the sick and shut in
- Church retreats, meetings, and workshops
That's Monday through Saturday, and also having time to research and craft their sermon for sundays. just my 2 cents. And I'm sure there are other things that I haven't mentioned. Never been a fan of mega churches, they all seemed shady to me. But the smaller churches, at least the ones i went to, did a lot for the surrounding community. I know a lot on here aren't a fan of Christianity, but to paint all preachers as crooks is wrong. I know some personally that are good upstanding men, whether they are in the pulpit or just everyday living

Most verizon employees make $50+k a year and have full benefits + paid vacation and sick days.
While managers make $90+k a year(some up to 150k depending on the store).
Not even talking about district or regional managers bank roll..
Nothing menial about working at Verizon or At&T. Those are jobs/careers i wish more young people strived to get hired at instead of working at Starbucks or Best Buy til they 27 makin $11 a hour..
Its even worse in Africa. When i was in Accra, all these pastors turned up in brand new mercedes and BMWs wearing thousand dollar suits and watches. Their wives draped in jewelry.

Those hole in the wall churches are the worst. And it's mostly Haitians too.

After the IRS, the church is the biggest rapist. I know plenty of old heads still renting or mortgaging their homes of 20 + years that are in disrepair but they will gladly serve and donate to pastor's anniversary, first lady's women's revival, the building fund, love offering in addition to 10% tithes. Just imagine if that 10% + stayed in our households. My aunt's church provides senior bound college kids laptops but there is a lottery so everyone doesn't get one and all that shyt is a write-off since they church has 501 c exempt status.
Try to talk sense into these Negros they will call you everything but a child of God when you are only trying to help them.. Back in the day the black church was a safe haven, organized rallies, even reunited displaced families separated during slavery. Now since they get the federal exemptions they must play the game and not speak out on political issues. One pastor I know of will not speak against homosexuality, not because he feels it is immoral or that only God should judge but "gay people have money!"
If blacks would stop supporting the church and Latinos with Catholicism, Christianity would disappear in a week. CACs frequent pubs and bars more than they do church events. Drinking is their religion.

I used to be critical of black churches and the wealth that they amass but truth be told, that $420 is probably a drop in the bucket compared to white churches and the function that churches serve for loads of people is a price they should be willing to pay. Church is a social club for loads of older people who need that companionship and social life. They would have to sell their home if they went to a care home looking for that same network.

It's always some excuse or the other why black folks aren't where we need to be. If church was removed from the equation, then it'd be the white man holding us back or something else to lay the blame on.

The last time I was forced to go to church against my will, when the offering tray came around I threw a handful of ten cent coins at it. bytch holding the tray looked at me like I pissed on a bible. Ho, my money ain't good enough for your imaginary being?
