U are lost man. There is nothin anybody can say to get thru to u that Lins race plays a part in this entire thing.. question, are u white?

Same here, you just don't seem to be able to think congruently or understand other people's arguments if it diverges from your own. Sad..

Jeremy Lin makes more at the pg position but probably isn't better then:
Goran Dragic [<- averages more points and assists then lin]
Greivis Vasquez [<- averages more points and assists then lin]
Raymond Felton [<- averages more points and assists then lin]
Darren Collison [<- averages more points and assists then lin]
Mike Conley [<- averages more points and assists then lin]
Kyle Lowry [<- averages more points and assists then lin]
Damian Lillard [<- averages more points and assists then lin(rookie contract)]
Ricky Rubio [hasn't played due to injury but is arguably better]
Brandon Jennings [<- averages more points and assists then lin]
John Wall [hasn't played due to injury but is easily better]
Kyrie Irving [<- averages more points and assists then lin]

Lin makes three million less at the pg position but definately isn't better then:
Jrue Holliday [<- averages more points and assists then lin] (2mill more)
Stephen Curry [hasn't played due to injury but is arguably better] (3mill more)
Steve Nash [is older and injured but much better] (.3 million more)

Highest paid point guards [12 million +] [no order]:
Chris Paul
Rajon Rondo
Deron Williams
Tony Parker
Derrick Rose
Russell Westbrook

looking at lin's salary compared to the rest of the league and his talent compared to everyone else...does he REALLY deserve that contract based on his skill level? exactly...

I dont see anything wrong with being a more suited player for certain systems... the point of my reply was that everybody is quick to sh.t on Lin w/o considering of extending any benefit of doubt of McHale's coaching ability.

Just look at the Lakers and Mike Brown. Are the Lakers a trash team because they thrived better with Phil Jackson than Mike Brown? because that's basically what you're inferring. :ohhh:

I wasn't inferring anything.
Honest question and wanted an honest opinion.

Ahh, fukk it. Obviously reading comprehension is not your strong suit . We weren't discussing Lin making excuses. :comeon: We were discussing extra motivation for others coming at Lin. Of course they wanna shyt on him because of the whole Linsanity thing, like watch how I shyt on him to prove that he was a fluke type deal.

But, carry on tho. :youngsabo:

:rudy:

But you attempted to make a point on them facts. Yea, a player can better establish themselves in the league more effectively by shytting on Lin than shytting on a Chris Paul. I get your point

If u believe this then u are highly misinformed, u are naive or flat out sheltered. Are u white?

Y'all love to always go for the u must be white shyt.

No, I'm not white. The color of my skin is brown and I grew up playing ball in all 5 boros so I don't feel in any way sheltered.
I played organized basketball from 4th grade all the way until college for a d1 program. I have peers who played for the best d1 programs, d-league teams, and overseas teams. I've taken the train to queens and played against some damn good Asian players, never in my life have I felt that way or have my peers felt that way about another player being Asian.

If I played 1 on 1 against a 400lb Purple man with handles like Kyrie, footwork like Kobe and a jumper like Ray Allen...I'm not hanging my head and feeling embarrassed from taking an L cause dude don't look like the avg baller. If your nice, your nice.
Jeremy Lin ain't that nice.

I disagree, I'm sorry but the nba is a professional league, they are not a high school or college atmosphere. NBA players go all over the world, see all races of people and face different ethnicities of competition all the time. I find it very hard to believe that they go extra hard against lin JUST because he's asian. I do believe they see a person who was hyped beyond belief and want to do their best to stop that player. I don't see how it's any different from any other player that gets all star treatment, other players are going to respect you and go after you to embarrass you. That's just competition and how the game is played. Look at lebron and tell me that people don't try to go after him and embarrass him or kobe, the competition does their best to one up these elite players and they have been in the league for years with more consistent elite production.

It's Lin's job to recognize that they are going harder against him but if his game was as good as it's being hyped he would still do well even with knowing that they are trying to embarrass him. Knowing the competition is coming after you but still succeeding or exceeding expectation on the court is what makes you elite. That type of competition is what separates the consistent all-stars from your average joe nba players.

Lin is misguided in using his race as mask for the lack production on the court and not meeting the hype of his name
.

Exactly. Great post.

You think players didnt go extra hard on Michael Jordan?

Of course they did....the DIFFERENCE is, he (and Kobe, Lebron) didn't complain, they just got better, they got stronger.

It's up to Lin to do the same going forward.

I'm basin this on sheer facts from Jeremy Lins mouth. He has said himself that black dudes come at him harder because he is Asian and they don't wana get embarrased by him, and they feel that Lin doesn't deserve all the hype and credit he has recievd. Those are facts/quotes from Lins mouth!:mindblown:

Except you CANNOT, CANNOT(growing up in America at least), get to the NBA without playing against a litany of black athletes. I dont care if you're from an all Asian city....you're gonna play against black dudes in AAU, or high school playoffs, etc.

Were those black dudes not wanting to be embarrassed by an Asian back then?

You can't be serious. This ain't street ball :comeon:

shytting on A player like Lin ain't getting you no props lol. nikkas ain't going hard against Kyrie, lol. I think making millions motivates these dudes enough.

you in denial bro.:smugbiden:

same way dude went hard at KG, Lebron, Kobe and so on because of the hype since they jump to the NBA from high school.

You think dudes are trying to get embarrassed by an asian dude? :birdman: Lin is going about it the wrong way though, once he meets that challenge and show that he's worth the hype Niccas will back off. :jawalrus:

My Pops Forever RIP
Don't try to play me like that. :comeon:

I understand the novelty and the uniqueness of the situation. I get it........but to a point. Then it becomes insulting to my intelligence.

There's other players in the NBA of all races and they never did any of that for them. They never showed random German immigrants in restaurants cheering for Dirk in a regular season game. They never showed restaurants full of Turkish immigrants or people in the crowd cheering for Hedo Turkulu or Peja Stojackovic...that's all I'm saying. And all of those dudes are better or were better at one point than Jeremy Lin. And there's been other Asian NBA players before him.

I guess my point is, it was insulting b/c it wasn't genuine.

1. There was a precedent prior to all of those players.

2. You're talking about the appeal of perhaps the biggest ethnic fanbase in the world. To not at least acknowledge that and see what effect that has on that fanbase is irresponsible if we're talking business.
