Taylor Swift had to rerecord her early lps because she got into a issue with her masters.

EPMD had to re record their non Def Jam songs for their outta business lp second disc.

DMX re recorded some stuff also and it doesn’t sound good at all.

can you list the differences

because i thought its my thang 99 and you gots to chill 97 were jus sequels

When EPMD released their greatest hits album in 1999, they had to re-record the songs they wanted to include from their first two albums, because the masters weren't owned by Def Jam.

I don't think it's a bad idea to re-record old songs, especially if you put out the original song when you were really young. You could do it with an improved voice, add some new arrangements, change up some of the lyrics that didn't make sense before. Just don't wait to do it when you're :flabbynsick: and don't have the chops anymore.

Also, I know I'm alone here, but this version >>>>>>>>>> the original:

i actually think i agree with you here.

also without whole heartedly exaggerating some of those DMX records werent that bad. that teddy tho :picard:

Blackground garbage as hell, they're even holding the Aaliyah catalogue hostage for no reason.

She’s the only other person I’ve heard of wanting to do this but Jojo was the first I knew of that actually did it. Some labels will have their artists in hell with their contracts.

Word. I can't see why her label wouldn't be able to negotiate something for her.

They get the money and split it.

It's bugged how an artist could be perceived as popular, then year later lable issues happen.

Doesn't this happen all the time?

This is the first time I have ever heard of someone having to re-record 2 albums because they literally weren't able to stream the originals.
Even the DMX one the originals are still there to be streamed. He didn't actually have to re-record them.

Unless you have more examples?

It definitely works with the current music and helps you keep up with what’s dropping out here. My only thing is if you want to find some old music on there. Producers be making having uncredited samples and stuff that the artists being sampled will find eventually . they mess around and have the hardest part of the beat taken out or the whole song disappears. You’ll be mad if you don’t already have that first version of the song.

I hear you. That song by 2 Pistols and T Pain, She got it. The OG version (the beat) is better than the one that was officially released. IMO at least. That was never officially released though, so you couldn’t buy it if you wanted to. Gotta pirate that one.

Well thats the price you pay for actually having your music on demand

Don’t get me wrong, if I had paper like that, I would buy a ton of music. I do still buy music from my favorite artists but I can’t shyt on having the streaming option.
