Don’t get me wrong, if I had paper like that, I would buy a ton of music. I do still buy music from my favorite artists but I can’t shyt on having the streaming option.

I hear you. That song by 2 Pistols and T Pain, She got it. The OG version (the beat) is better than the one that was officially released. IMO at least. That was never officially released though, so you couldn’t buy it if you wanted to. Gotta pirate that one.

In some instance, artist package the remastered version to a new album. That's what TLC did. I heard the DMX one before and it was trash. I would always go back to the original over the remaster/remake. Maybe if they used a live band, I would listen to a new version of songs.

When EPMD released their greatest hits album in 1999, they had to re-record the songs they wanted to include from their first two albums, because the masters weren't owned by Def Jam.

I don't think it's a bad idea to re-record old songs, especially if you put out the original song when you were really young. You could do it with an improved voice, add some new arrangements, change up some of the lyrics that didn't make sense before. Just don't wait to do it when you're and don't have the chops anymore.

My problem is that part of what makes some of the originals dope is the rawness of them in the first place and the hunger. That shyt can't be replicated even though it really seems like it should be doable.

I have no position on if the ladies accusations are true or not--this is my first time hearing that "theory."

But, I was referring to people rather being broke than paying a settlement.

There's individuals that owe millions in settlement money that will never be paid out.
