Actually the action scenes were great and I'm usually a guy who doesn't care about those. But again, the problem I had was they didn't show before hand how much not killing people mattered to Superman.
Being raised by a couple farmers in the Bible Belt and then surreptitiously saving people from childhood to adulthood was more than enough for me to understand his stance on killing folks.:yeshrug:

Superman's sense of morals is supposed to be higher than Everyone else's tho
Where in the movie did it explain that?:sas2:

they didn't, that's the point. if they did, then him killing Zod would have felt like a bigger scene in the movie

Didn't Michael Keaton's Batman rack up a large body count of nameless henchmen and thugs? For some reason I have a recollection that in that first Burton Batman movie there were points in the film where no fukks were given as to whether bad guys lived or died.

Yeah, but that's BATMAN. Do yall not understand the clear difference between Batman crossing that line and Superman crossing that line. Hell that's why the stories where Superman does kill are so effective, hell it's the reason comics like "Irredeemable" and to a lesser extent "Injustice" work.

But you made the definitive statement that Superman is supposed to have higher morals than everyone despite that not being included in the movie while being critical that the movie never showed why he cared so much about not killing.

in terms of story telling man. you can't just assume, well the audience knows this. that's not good story telling. if that's the case, I know how he got to earth, so should they have skipped that in the movie?

Aside from the early days of his creation where he was killing people like crazy, Batman has a zero tolerance policy in the comics when it comes to killing. That is why he hasn't offed the Joker after all these years. Superman on the other hand has been shown to be open to the possibility of killing if it is the last resort.

Fukk these "superheroes" who ain't willing to kill. Ends up costing more lives... Bullshyt morality :camby:

It makes perfect fukking sense. Lets be completely honest, Superman isn't just some random superhero like, Cyclops, or Hawk and Dove. Superman is basically a god capable of destroying planets. Once he makes the decision to kill. The whole planet better take notice.

Which is what I don't think yall get.

So all the press clippings Lois collected of the "mystery man" saving people and then the several instances that showed him saving people (as a child and as an adult) didn't do anything to show you what kind of moral code he had in regards to sanctity of life?
Was there supposed to be a monologue where he detailed why he feels the need to never kill anyone ever in order to be good storytelling?

You seem to think that by his killing Zod that it has triggered this innate bloodlust or something in him where he is now going to fly around breaking the necks of jaywalkers and car thieves.
He was in an extreme situation and he felt it was the only recourse he could have taken at that time. That doesn't mean he is now going to be killing all criminals.
