Speaking from a financial standpoint I'm gonna say don't do it because it can be a headache. Once you and her have kids together, things will change. Then she's gonna feel some type of way because you're treating your biological kids differently than the step. If you're gonna do it, lay everything out front. What you feel comfortable doing? And what you don't. You may go in thinking you're just gonna be a father figure in this kids life but she may be thinking she has some legit help in paying for him. (Paying for private school, buying Jordans, etc).

What's gonna happen when you wanna send your bio kid to private school but her kid is going to public? Talk about everything. don't assume at all.

Sometimes her dad keeps them for the weekend, they’ll go spend a weekend with their father or I’ll take them all out.

Most of the time tho we just chill at her spot. She’s always tired with the job & two kids so while she rest I play with the kids or watch football or something

after 30 it's almost inevitable that you're going to be dating a single mother so... here's my real advice.


Don't try to be his "dad". Try to be more like a good role model or mentor if anything. I wouldn't even want the kid calling me dad. I never called any of my step parents mom/dad. I was well aware who my parents were...

Just think of it like you're a coach, mentor, etc. If that, because you don't have to be and he doesn't have to accept it. When I took my nephew in, I was well aware that I was not his father or trying to be. But I did help him or get on his ass if he fukked up.




So just think of it like you're an uncle that happens to be slamming ass with his momma.
