Its tough, Pops main objective should be to do whatever he feels will help the team win a title. But we all know good and well the Heat, Thunder, Lakers tickets are priced at a higher premium rate not because of the team but because of the superstars on those teams. I know if I paid $500 for lower level VIP seats when the Heat come to town early in the season and found out that Bron, Wade, or Bosh wasn't playing (and not injured) I'd be pissed

So say you're a Laker fan, you're there to support YOUR team correct? Seeing those other players is just a bonus right? I'm just asking because I've been to plenty games where the matchup was intriguing but then the stars sat out.didnt disturb my fan viewing experience not one iota

IMO the main issue is sending the players home instead of having them present at the game suited and booted at the end of the bench. It sets a bad precedent for the league and I could only imagine a coach like Dwayne Casey would send Andrea Bargnani's ass home permanently if he could. Its one thing when you have a player thats toxic to the team environment and its best to have them stay away from the team a la Marbury or Jamaal Tinsley in Indy, its another thing when you have four fully healthy players skip a game altogether and just hop on the plane.

LOLLLLLLLLLL WHAT! you do realize the league promote ticket packages that includes the players and teams being offered to casual fans right? Those " hey lebron james and the heat is coming to town blah blah blah for 50 dollar " commericals are issued because the league has trouble selling tickets as well as revenue issues. if it wasn't for the fans this league would be in another lockout.

this is about stern sanctioning him not about pops brilliance it's not good for the game to say f the fans . Plus say they lose hca by one game then get a game 7 with Memphis in the grindhouse. Doesn't make a difference. It's Popovich's job to figure out how he can get the Spurs to win a title, not please fans that aren't even fans of his squad.

Look at baseball for example. On any given day, you could buy a ticket and not see half the players that would usually play. The team's not obligated to play someone every day and neither is Pop. Besides, there's a loophole to everything if they wanted to do some ridiculous sanction. At that point, Stern might as well coach, since clearly he thinks Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili should play x amount of minutes every night.

@tremonthustler1 baseball is a completely different sport .people expect players to rest the play more games and more back to backs you can manage people's minutes in the nba you can't do that in baseball . They have a deep ass team and the season just started play them less minutes . Now say they lose all these games he gives the stars off costing them hca . Now they in la , Memphis or okc for a game 7 or even Miami in the finals . If they lose them can I laugh at pop for being a bad coach if the goal is to win a title
