50 cent definitely had the biggest mainstream entrance in the rap game

In da club was a Hit that was played EVERYWHERE.Schools, parties, radio, videos etc

Plus white people were infatuated wit the the thug/shot 9 times/mother was killed at an early age/sold drugs story. After he lost his bandwagon cracka fan base those numbers gradually dropped.I doubt anyone will ever come in the game like 50 did late 02-early 03

50 Cent's marketing blueprint was already perfected by Tupac/Interscope before he even got signed. shyt just wasn't as natural as posters are trying to make it out to be.

The answer is Snoop.

It may not have been official released but a lot of the tracks leaked on mixtapes and anyone back in the day copped his single with Destiny's Child at retail. The album was literally about to drop to retail and pulled after the last minute after the shooting. 50 was NaS weed carrier for a bit before he was shot and even had songs with him as most everyone should now. "Get Rich" is not's 50's entrance into the game. He came into the game had some crazy things happen to him and then recovered and came back.

What? Biggie, Pac, Fugees, Diddy, Lboggie, Will Smith, MC Hammer, Beastie Boys Had already putting up Diamond to near Diamond sales. Yes Nelly and 50 hit the Jackpot on their debuts as far as sales but it had already been done in the late 80's and 90's.

Sales started to pop off around 96. There's exceptions obviously with hammer and the beastie boys but the numbers being moved in 93 were nowhere near the early 2000's when rap was at its commercial high

Looks at s/n and sig:russ: Try to be objective

When tupac 1st came out NOBODY was checkin for dude.He had to create that thug life facade and became controversial to get noticed.50 sold more records in 4 days that tupacs debut Ever sold.

Snoop had mad buzz but fifty had mixtapes, beef with ja rule/murder inc,in da club which made him hotter.50 broke snoops sales record

50 Cent > DMX but thats my opinion. Didnt witness snoops but I imagine hearing him on Deep Cover, the Chronic and then him releasing Doggy was even more epic than 50

What does that have to do with recycling a marketing plan and image?

When 50 Cent first came out with Power Of A Dollar no one gave a fukk. When he became "controversial" in all the same ways that worked for Tupac, he blew up.

Bias has nothing to do with it because its clear that the idea to promote the fukk out of being shot was something they did with Tupac, the idea of having him the 'head' of a rap crew was something they did with Tupac/Outlaws, being shown in a ton of pictures with a bulletproof vest on and that wreckless 'thug' attitude was something they did with Tupac. When they needed singles they didnt just randomly choose the exact same 2 people who did '2 Of Amerikkaz Most Wanted' and 'California Love' to work on his first 2 singles.

Facts are facts breh.

50 built his buzz on g unit mixtapes in 2002 he had a buzz that Eminem noticed and that's why he got signed. Then he dropped catch me in the hood wanksta,in da club all music no controversy. He and ja rule had beef that had nothing to do with hip hop they were goin at each other years before fifty was signed

When tupac 1st came out noone was checkin for him he was more known for his movie roles.THEN he fought the hughes bros, shot 2 off duty cops, got charged for rape, then got got shot in nyc and went to jail. After that he starts moving mad records.Fifty was marketed as a nikka who's moms died, who sold drugs, was shot in queens, lost his record deal and got back on by killing the mixtape game.50 was a known rapper before he got shot he toured with nas and was featured on a onyx song and was infamous for how to rob. What buzz did tupac have before he created his facade?

Facts are facts "breh"

Day one 50 hater here, triple OG status....and i'd prolly give that to him...that nikka's set up was immaculate, dudes were legit in love with his back story...he was at the forefront of the whole flash guns and talk shyt on dvds era, the shot nine times story, the whole mythology behind how and why it happened, the beef with the big mainstream camp in the peak of their backlash, getting signed to the biggest rapper on the planet, the most storied producer in rap history, and the biggest machine in the business...at the same damn time....the street buzz from the mixtapes that owned the tri-state preceding it all...the warm up mixtape track that became a hit record in wanksta...the transcendent inescapable lead single that became the biggest song in the country...the huge debut album....dude's intro was pretty much flawless
