So can we finally admit that 50 cent had the best entrance into hip hop of all time??

im from st. louis and no, nelly's entrance was NOWHERE EVEN CLOSE to 50 cents dominance of get rich or die trying... dont get me wrong people liked nelly and his music, but no one was goin around sayin shyt like nelly was the next pac, or quoting every verse from country grammar like they were doing get rich or die trying. but that was a good answer, but he wasnt as omnipresent as 50 cent was in his prime.

I don't know man. "Nelly" run was HUGE. "Country Grammer" actually sold more records than "Get Rich" and is the highest grossing debut rap album of all time. I'd argue that Nelly's entrance was just as big if not bigger than 50. The biggest difference was 50's, along with Big, Snoop, X and yes Drake was an instant success were as Nelly was like a slow crawl but he blew big with "Country Grammer".

If you look at it from every angle far as hits, musically, impact, storyline, beef, 50 has it hands down....I would say Snoop had the greatest entrance and buzz based off skills alone than anybody else though....nobody gon mention MC Hammer:rudy: oh ok...say what u want but Hammer wuz on Michael Jacksons radar and had alotta nikkas mad....nigg had a cartoon:damn:

Snoop Doggy Dogg easily... 802,000 first week in 1993 when Hip Hop wasn't as mainstream... SMH @ 50 only doing 70,000 more during Hip Hop's peak :stopitslime:

I disagree. Hip hop was almost at a complete forefront around the time snoop had dropped. Just admit it guys, 50 cent had the goat entrance. and for all you guys tryna say get rich wasnt his official entrance... yes it was cocksuckers... he never released a major label debut before get rich or die trying. u cant count a mixtape as a persons official entrance into hip hop.

:rudy: hip hop wasn't selling anywhere close to the amount of records in '93 compared to the early 2000's

and for the 15th time mentioned in this thread, get rich wasn't 50's entry

It may not have been official released but a lot of the tracks leaked on mixtapes and anyone back in the day copped his single with Destiny's Child at retail. The album was literally about to drop to retail and pulled after the last minute after the shooting. 50 was NaS weed carrier for a bit before he was shot and even had songs with him as most everyone should now. "Get Rich" is not's 50's entrance into the game. He came into the game had some crazy things happen to him and then recovered and came back.

What? Biggie, Pac, Fugees, Diddy, Lboggie, Will Smith, MC Hammer, Beastie Boys Had already putting up Diamond to near Diamond sales. Yes Nelly and 50 hit the Jackpot on their debuts as far as sales but it had already been done in the late 80's and 90's.

So if dont get enough buzz with yo first album...your next album that goes platinum is yo impact album:birdman:
If you meant impact by sales then Snoop takes it Hands down coz he did it with his debut

This dont take from Get rich being an album that propelled him to star-dorm.

Yall really hating on 50.... This was at a time when music downloading was almost at the peak.... NOONE sells this many records now... Every kid in school had this copy..

And of course this wasn't his first cd but lets not get all technical n sh1t...

This was 50s breakthrough album... So did he have the best breakthrough hip hop album... Yes..

Every person in this country knew who 50 cent was within a year.

We all know he ain't ish now but u can't deny what the man did with that album.... It will never be done again...
