So can we finally admit that 50 cent had the best entrance into hip hop of all time??

Around the time GRODT dropped I've never seen such buzz from a hip hop artist ever. Everyone and their mama was talking about 50 and that album. I've never seen no shyt like that.

right. and these hatin cacs tryna act like that wasnt his official debut. i dont give a fukk what came out before that, THAT was his debut. that shyt was crazy. had OLD people in retirement homes talkin about 50 cent. Hip hop needed him bad at the time.

which he hasn't. and that's fine. i didn't see him as some profound artist to begin with. he was adrenaline rap at a time when it was needed.

funny, it's needed again right now.

rap is too soft now.

it needs new blood like 50 but to do it in a different way cuz 50's way of doing things when he blew up is dated

but when he came in.

dammmnnn homie in high school u was the mannnn homie

they used to not be able to play 50 in spots on Staten Island because WE would go berserk and shut shyt down...while he was shytting on Ghost & S.I. mind you.

Zadokos on Victory...jamaican spot. who in here from SI?

50 Cent's music sounds exactly on par quality wise now as it did then. Call me crazy.

you're kinda half right
i was listening to some of 50's best joints a while ago and they're not that much better than the shyt he does now

it just sounded better back then for whatever reason

if he dropped those dope old joints today there wouldn't be a response
his declining popularity is a marketing problem not a music one imo :manny:

like if Outta Control Remix (with Mobb Deep) dropped today people wouldn't give a fokk
if the Get Rich soundtrack dropped today people would say its wack

No one is denying that was his debut, but dude was well known due to being in the news for plenty of controversial ish in the previous 5 yrs. Dropping a debut album after several yrs in the industry isn't unheard of. Everyone knew exactly who he was before he signed to Shady/Aftermath. From '00-'02, Ja Rule was one of the biggest names in rap; 50 was known for that rivalry more than anything.

I guess The Realness was Cormega's introduction into hip-hop s well. Or the Kanye's stuff was Consequence's intro.

The Chronic came out a year earlier than Doggystyle. Snoop already had a big buzz because of Dre.

Rakim in 86 and it's not even close. Ra didn't need Interscope and Dre to impact and change Hip Hop!!
