Nah...Curtis' SECOND intro into the game was all marketing. It was, "Hey America! Check out super gangsta, shot nine times and survived, Eminem approved, Dre on the beat 50is Cent!"

Calvin came into the game spittin' that smooth gangsta shyt on Deep Cover and had everyone like :ohlawd:. Then G Thang, the Chronic and Doggystyle? Calvin Lion definitely takes that crown.

Easily Snoop
2 real ass classics in 12 months, the whole death row era and all that.

50 is not far behind, started the mixtape game as we know it, a dope ass album, brought back actual aggressive content. But as far as music goes, 50 is not seeing Snoop.

you cannot be serious with Lil Kim.

Come on now breh, REALLY? :comeon:

The 3 being talked about here basically ran a year+ when they first hit the scene. Snoop (93-94), DMX (98-99), and 50 Cent (2003-2005)

:childplease: nobody outside of the tri state area and pa knew who 50 was before the g unit deal and the no mercy mixtape which basically blew up off the strength of wangsta.

50 starting the mixtape game is the biggest hoax on this board, I guess y'all forgot back in 00-02 when d block was dropping mixtapes damn near every week when jae hood was hot.

In taking a global perspective of the impact on the culture and on the world, KIM didn't really do much.

It's hard to overstate how big Snoop was back then, non hip-hop heads knew him back in Central Africa :merchant: 50 had a similar "cultural" impact, but far less, while it was non-existent for someone like KIM. KIM was "just" big in hip-hop circles, but even never at THAT level IMO. very few are in this discussion I think, basically Snoop, 50, DMX, maybe Jay-Z even though I don't remember RD running hip-hop when it dropped.
