It's a deleted tweet now, so more than likely its not true.
I want Melo to go to a contender but damn man, he's leaving. That's my small forward

Lebron retiring and the warriors winding down but remember there are new teams on the come right now. Timberwolves, 76ers, Bucks. It's anyone's guess how good they become but they're definitely on the up.It just occurred to me that the THJR contract is actually a contract that might make sense for the Knicks.
First off, the Knicks are not going to be good in the next 4 years. As they've already announced, they're going "young." So the fact that you tie up $71 million dollars in a player like THJR does look excessive in a vacuum, but within context, what's the alternative? Where else do you spend the $71 to get back clear superior value as the Knicks? For this summer and the next 3 summers who are the free agent targets that the Knicks have any hope at all of signing, especially with the current Warriors situation? Even if hypothetically they can land some impact players over the next 3 summers, to what end will that be? To be a mid tier playoff team in the east like Miami?
Your three best assets are 23 and younger. Your best asset is 21. 4 years takes him right into the beginning of his prime. People try to imagine what THJR real ceiling is (20, 4, 4?), and think can it justify this deal, and realistically, that would justify the deal. But even if he stayed where he currently is, what's the worse case scenario? The knicks get 3 lottery picks over the next three years? They'll probably get at least 2 lottery picks over the span of his deal even his exceeds all expectations.
Realistically what is the Knicks primary goal right now? It's simple, re-sign Kristaps to a max deal in 2 years when his rookie deal is up. That's it! Knicks have no other realistic goals between now and then but to create an attractive situation for Kristaps to re-sign to in 2 years.
So best case scenario, THJR's deal ends when Kristaps will be 25, hopefully already re-signed to a max contract extension; Frank will be 22, hopefully developing into a nice piece; the Knicks will have been bad for 3 seasons but trending in the right direction having made 3 lottery selections, hopefully with 1 or 2 of them trending into a quality player. You go into free agency when THJR's contract is expiring with the Warriors dominance over the NBA winding down, Lebron likely retiring, with a very strong core of young players ready to attract the quality players who were drafted this year (2017) who are coming off of their rookie deals for the first time.
What's so bad about that? And if you got something negative to say about, what was the alternative that would make a CLEAR positive impact over this signing?

People love KCP but does he fit hornys system ? I'll be honest haven't seen him play much but I doubt itIt just occurred to me that the THJR contract is actually a contract that might make sense for the Knicks.

I don't know, which is why I should be the new gm. Since I ain't knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the league and am the perfect fall guyWhat's your scenario though
