Possibly after the vegas shooting or vmas?
Doggfather was recorded in february 96 and the mix with charlie wilson was done in late june. Gangstaz life was done between around february-march as well and was produced by bobcat (producer of 2pacs holla at me, last wordz) snoop scrapped the song after he began new sessions in september but kept the intro for retail. The beat can be found on a mista grim skit.
Up jump da boogie- was done may 96 features roger troutman and teena marie
Produced by pooh, contains slight jabs at the notorious big in the 3rd verse and is a mafioso-funk song. First appeared on a june draft list but didnt reappear again until a late september tracklist. Unsure if it was on any other dats aside from those two. IMO this should have been a single.

Change gon come- was recorded in march 96 produced by soopafly and lt hutton appeared on early drafts and was selected in the final tracklist up until snoop scrapped it last minute and added sixx minutes back to the tracklist.

May i funk with u-recorded in the same session as change gon come produced by soopafly and features malik. It was also present on early drafts up until july 10th 96 and was re added on during the final selection process and replaced by freestyle conversation. Snoop also used verses from this song on only move 4 money ft. 2pac and badazz. As well as we just wanna party with you ft. Da brat.

OUT THA MOON FT. 2Pac, soopafly and lbc crew- produced by daz, soopafly and lt hutton, snoop doggy dogg. Mixed by pooh. Was originally intended for the doggfather album and was the last minute removal of any 2pac features. More than likely this song was replaced by blueberry or me and my doggz ( im betting this) snoop ended up moving it to the snoop upside ya head maxi single as a b side.the song also appears on the gridlockd soundtrack and was recorded in may 96 (2pac version).

BONUS*
Me and my doggz-produced by LT and mixed by pooh, written by techniec. Recorded june 96 and appears only on work dat. Song didnt reappear until after 2pacs death when snoop began new sessions for the album replacing out tha moon. Lyrically a good song, beat isnt bad but could be mixed better i think it needed dr dre touch on this one.

That Me & My Doggz song was mixed horribly :snoop:
One thing that I always wondered about is if Malik actually wrote his own material ?
That dude was, what, like 10 years old when doggystyle came out ?
And the only thing he does on that track is that lil part with him & snoop rappin "at the same time" when they go

Well in verse three, the worst see?
After part two, know when I start the clock there be a heart, too
And just the two of us, gonna show you how we do
I thought you knew we bust

And what about Head Doctor & Eastside Party ?

Head doctor- recorded between late may-early june 96. Theres 3 versions of this song(gravy train and put it in ya mouth)
Produced by kurt kobane samples prince if i was your girlfriend and mtume juicey.
Appeared on various work dats early on but not an official tracklist til september. Features raphael saadiq on the hook, in a prerelease album review this song and too blacc were present on the album and were highly favored. There was a planned single/video for the track and although it was took off retail for failure to get sample clearances in time for the retail release date its still present in the albums liner notes. Very chilled track just kinda runs too long towards the end the updated version on dmw is how it shouldve turned out minus the swoop g verse. If it was a 4 minute song it woulda been perfect.

Eastside party- recorded early march 96, was present on all work data and draft lists for the album until july 96, produced by daz(alternate version features him and tray d) personally should have been on retail this album sorely missed this song and couldve been a huge radio single.

The og Version of head doctor is amazing, the dmw Version sounds pretty weak in comparison.
You got any idea bout Maliks lyrics ?

Idk about that one one. I like the og head doctor just length wise it shoulda been only 4 ninutes,. Another thing i noticed is that some of those dats we have seen are only compilations of songs for snoop to pick and chose for the album the only "legit" tracklists are the ones that are on safety master dats and album final dats.

Or snoop shouldve Done a third Verse :yeshrug:
Yeah but I think thats Common to have a Pool of Tracks to Choose from, but unfortunately they didn't do that right.:snoop:
You got Infos on "Heard It Through The Eastside" , "Midnight Love" & "Too High" ?

Word on the streetz- recorded late march 96 appeared on various dats and early tracklists until july 96 features techniec and badazz produced by dj pooh samples roger troutman so ruff. Personally i think this shouldve made the final cut and I'm sure theres another tracklist that it appears on that is still in vault because this song was HIGHLY considered for retail.

Midnite love- recorded late june 96 in the same session as you thought and definition of a homeboy pruduced by soopafly mixed by daz and features a verse from him with raphael saadiq on hook. Was present on a work dat from july and possibly on one of the other draft lists
But on the ones available it shows up on a september tracklist. Highly considered for retail and was released as a promo in late 96. When the album dropped the following month people were lookin for it only to find out snoop moved it to the shelved doggumentary album.

Poly High-recorded late march-early april 96 possibly before. Features DPG, Big pimpin and tha twinz. Appears on on dats and tracklists all the way to september 96. Another track produced by lt hutton mixed by daz. Was removed from final sequencing for unknown reasons. But you can here the end of the song at the beginning of doggfather interlude.

Get up get down(Doggfather interlude)ft. El debarge and Smitty- produced by snoop and mixed by him.Snoop is also on the vocoder doing back vocals. This song waa sequenced with poly high originally but moved to follow either before or after Doggfather song. recorded late februrary 96 with el debarge being added some time after during off the hook sessions.
This track was also removed last minute and moved to bside of snoops upside ya head.

OFF THE HOOK- produced by daz features val young, charlie wilson and debarge. 2 verses from snoop and was originally intended for tha doggfather before being moved to gridlockd, snoop also planned on putting the album back of doggfather but kept it on the snoops upside ya head single. Great song but imo was a better fit for soundtrack though it does fit the funk vibe.

Gathered alot of info from the MODS over the years plus i remember when the album was getting ready to drop and was mentioned that 2pac was appearing on few of the tracks but when it dropped none of what was advertised was on the final product and snoop cancelled the albums promotion afterwards due to him gettin threats from the east coast and suges goin to jail.

2001- was recorded late february 96, written by badazz with nate dogg harmonizing on the original version featured on the 20th anniversary edition. Appeared on an early tracklist along side keep it real dogg as a remix/part 2 type song and was removed by june 96 and readded in september. Great song just wish they kept nate on it.
Wanted dead or alive- recorded april 96 as far as pacs vocals are concerned, snoop didnt get on til later along with charlie wilson. Originally this was one of the songs done so the album can have a pac feature on(out tha moon, just watchin etc.) But wasnt revisited again until after pac died and snoop went back to add the rip shoutout. In that same session is where the track with biz markie was done and the other version of vapors dj pooh version was fully mixed down and mastered. This song replaced street life on the gridlockd soundtrack.

The Genie- written by badazz and features him as well. Produced by lt hutton, features bo roc was done in late spring 96 in the same sessions as stone cold corleons. Song was scrapped early and doesnt appear on any other dats for the album. This is another song where the mixing kinda drowns snoops vocals.
