Thoughts on get into dis and get up to get down interlude? Do you think either one would flow on the album?

Nah I dont think so, "Get In 2 Dis" is a cool song but its more of a Charlie Wilson song. Makes me wonder if he was planning on releasing some material on death row.
Also wouldnt include the interlude, it would just be a skip track because the song is cool and all but nobody would actually like to hear a whole song of someone else singing on a snoop album, would make the album more of a compilation or a soundtrack and not a real album IMO

Which songs you liked from that anniversary sessions disc ?
Overall shyt was dissappointing to me, was really lookin forward to that leak but most of it is weak...

Understandable, i will say on the interlude its cool and all but its tooo longg it would be better if it was only 1 minute or so, get into dis is one of my favorite tracks off the project, i relistened to the whole thing and a have a feeling that 1 mintue lt instrumental is possibly to an interlude (maybe hotline ) but i would say i would replace the get up get down interlude if i couldnt shorten it would probably be smoke enough bud or something like that because atleast theres snoop vocals on it or maybe ride 4 me

Yeah but thats one of the few things on the retail version they got right, to take out all those non rapping songs.
The songs themselves are usually very good but as I said if I wanna listen to some r&b songs I listen to albums or soundtracks, not if I bought a snoop album.
My ratings for the "new" songs on the anniversary disc would be:

-Gangstaz Life: Great song, beat is dope and snoops storytellin lyrics are always great
-Doggfather OG Version: Dope as fukk, but a properly mixed cdq version would be great
-Definition Of A Homeboy: Boring as fukk, the beat gets repetitive very quick and snoops delivery is tired af s well
-Tell Her What She Wants: Another completely unnecessary track I'll probably never play again
-Pop Bloccin: Song is cool and all, but Snoop himself is average on this. Kurupt & Techniec are dope tho
-Dat Bumpin: Cool song as well, but I feel there is some more missin on the beat that would really push it to another level. Snoops 3rd verse is amazing tho
-Usual Suspects: Dope song, I love the new beat & both snoop & Threat are dope on this.
-Some Other shyt: Another wack af song. Snoops delivery is wack and the beat also isnt that good.
-Eastsiderz: Beat is pretty cool but Snoops delivery is too laidback for a beat like this.
-Get In 2 Dis: Cool song, beat is funky and snoop also has a cool verse but its more of a charlie wilson song with a snoop feature.
-Vapors BC Remix: Great song, beat is dope af and snoop kills it

What also took a bit away from me is the fact that "Pop Bloccin", "Usual Suspects" or "Eastsiderz" for example arent completely new songs and the few songs which are really completely unheard were 50/50

With usual suspects is that a remix done after snoop left death row or is it a final mixdown? Eastiderz and stone cold have a very similar beat. Gangstaz life full version should have stayed on album. Definition of homeboy is a great song just needed more to it, i dont mind snoops flow on here. Agree with tell her what she wanna hear its a waste. Dat bumpin was missing that dr dre touch. Verbal shots has a version with a snoop verse recorded and may possibly leak in the future and i feel would have fit great on doggfather. But with this tracklist here how would u edit this (songs you would replace or feel flow better)especially since at one point it was almost a finalized tracklist:

The Dogg Father 7/10/96 Safety
Snoop Doggy Dogg
Gangstas Life,
Doggfather,
I Will Survive,
Dogg Collar,
Street Life w Tupac,
Too High Poly High,
Tommy Boy,
Get Up To Get Down w Smitty & DeBarge,
Out The Moon w 2 Pac,
Bugsy,
Stone Cold Corleon,
Been So Long,
No Recognition,
County Blues,
Usual Suspects,
Droppin Bombs,
In The Rain (remix),
Would You Kill 4 Me,
Eastside Party,
Keep It Real Dogg,
Just Watchin'

With the songs we got here I feel its an overall "good" tracklisting even tho some of those songs are without a snoop verse, so it looks like a death row compilation or soundtrack more than anything.
If you asked me I'd simply take those out and replace em with some of the dope songs from the sessions. Dont know bout the sequencing tho, since there are many new tracks on here but Id keep most of it the same and would try to fit in the additional tracks somehow.
At the end I'm 100% happy with my tracklist anyway, the only way I'm changin that up is if we actually get those last few songs leaked and those are actually dope.
For all we know those last few songs could as well be absolute trash songs like "Some Other shyt" or "Tell Her What She Wants"....
Would like to hear that "Verbal Shots" version with snoop altho I assume that would also be a more fitting lbc crew album song.
Dont know bout "Usual Suspects", all I know is that it sounds better than the retail version.

Theres absolutely no info on how "been so long" actually sounds tho or am I wrong ?
Could also be an amazing 10/10 Track :manny:

If i had to guess its probably the song that samples the isley bros that has him talking to his girl on the intro, im sure the ones who leaked the project know for sure.

They should give a list of material they have and plan on leaking...
I hope they leak the rest of those songs right here and of course chronic/doggystyle era material

Along with some west coast after shock material. I honestly believe had 2pac not been killed we would have got a better album from snoop, another major thing i noticed is that the albums run too long what made DS perfect was it only having 13 tracks while DF had 21(granted there was some skits in between but in all actuality the album needed maybe 12-14tracks at most by snoop deciding to change up the album he shoulda shortened it to those amount of tracks (the best ones out that bunch) and kept a skit or two, have a couple upbeat songs for radio reasons but keep the rest of album dark. Other than that he shoulda never changed it at all

An album being long is absolutely no problem, as long as the songs are dope.
When I listen thru doggystyle it feels like the time goes by fast as fukk because all the songs are hits.
If the album was actually longer but the songs they added would be the leftovers "Doggystyle", "The Next Episode OG", "The Root Of All Evil Outro" and maybe 2 more songs we dont know of that are equally as dope as the songs on the retail, the album would still be flawless and the length wouldnt be a problem at all. If the songs are all classics the shyt just flows through in no time.
You can also make a rather short album with like 14 songs feel too long if you include a couple fillers.
As for myself I can play my "Doggfather" version all the way thru, and time just flys by. Cant say the same for the retail.

PS:
I recently looked thru the death row inventory list again, and "G U Looking For" was on there as well as "Last Man Standing". So were those songs actually done at death row ?
Same goes for the song "Survive" with Snoop, Luniz & The Productz, I read somewhere that this was a death row song as well.
You know anything bout those songs ?

Those songs were done in late 97-98

Does that also include "Survive" ? You got any more details about that song especially ?
Also who produced "G U Looking 4" ?

And whats yo opinion on the "length" argument ?
I have no clue who produced those tracks but g u lookin 4 was done for snoops upcoming 3rd lp at the time. With the album running to long i agree with what you said about the album having a bunch of bangers than it doesnt feel as long but i feel in the case with snoop albums in general he has a habit of putting too much filler as in this case with this album, i feel he shouldnt have changed up the album too much. Because the final product kinda all over the place
