I have no clue who produced those tracks but g u lookin 4 was done for snoops upcoming 3rd lp at the time. With the album running to long i agree with what you said about the album having a bunch of bangers than it doesnt feel as long but i feel in the case with snoop albums in general he has a habit of putting too much filler as in this case with this album, i feel he shouldnt have changed up the album too much. Because the final product kinda all over the place

Ok you Mean it was Done for his 3rd lp planend on death row or already for "Da Game" ?

As for the length of the Album:
Its the Quality control that sometimes Seems to be lackin on his Albums.
Working with Dre that Quality control was A1 and they couldve easily put more tracks on Their albums and they wouldve still been flawless because they wouldnt let Anything under a 10/10 even get on the Album.
Thats just not the case here, snoop needed somebody here who wouldve just told him which songs are wack and to Cut them out...

3rd DR album.

Which that person was suge but unfortunatly after september 7th he wasnt able too. I would much rather seen no recognition, verbal shots and stone cold corleon on retail version and i doubt suge would let snoop keep pac features off even if so there woulda been better cuts.

Do you think street life woulda been just as big as gangsta party?

You mean the "doggumentary ep" or an actual third album ?

I cant tell definetely, but it wouldve been big for sure just because of the fact that its a snoop & pac collabo.
I think after pacs death it wouldve gained mad extra recognition, even tho its not a "hit song/banger" in that sense but I think it wouldve done pretty good.
What you think ?

Actual 3rd album.
I think it woula made a dope video for sure, the tempo of the song reminds me of hail mary so it woulda been good for radio but i think just watchin would have been a huge single as well because that r&b-hip hop sound would have crossed over so well. Dead or alive with better promotion also couldve been just as popular as Gangsta party. I think we should do a whole breakdown on this album?

Sure im with it :ehh:
Vapors- originally recorded the night pac and suge went to vegas produced by battlecat featuring charlie wilson and teena marie. This version was to appear on retail but was replaced the very last minute with the dj pooh version which was recorded october 96 and moved to the scrapped doggumentary ep. Personally i dig the production of the battlecat version more, dj poohs alternate mix is better than the retail mix because of the extra instrumentation. IMO this song wasnt a good choice for single.

I dont have it but its on youtube.
Any info on snoops upside ya head OG and Remix? Thats the one i cant find info on.

Snoop Bounce- recorded september 25th 96 and was one of the replacement songs for the 2pac features(possibly street life, or out tha moon. maybe even wanted dead or alive according to karceno) produced by dj pooh and samples badboys only you remix, 3rd verse contains threats verse from usual suspects. Song was made after snoop met up with biggie in ny after suge was imprisoned folliwing vegas shooting.

Groupie-recorded august 29th 96 originally intended for westcoast aftershocc album produced by daz, served as a replacement for either just watchin or possibly midnite love due to its absence on the september 26th tracklist and groupie 1st appearing on there.

Doggyland- recorded may 96-was quickly scrapped from the album and was replaced by dogg collar up until the oct 1st draft list where it replaced dogg collar. Produced by dj pooh, great lyrics but awful production outside of the bass i feel this is one of pooh wackest beats and should have never replaced dogg collar.

Damn you make my Knowledge look poor af with all those exact Recording Dates etc you know :russ:
Dont know about Snoops Upside Ya Head, but what always stood out about "Snoop Bounce"/"Usual Suspects" to me is the lil part threat Spits that snoop also uses to open his Verse sounded kinda "off" for him like those first couple bars and the Rest of his Verse Belonged to different songs somehow...

Ps:
In the end I'll make a list with all the songs and the info We collected and edit it in the opening Post, so its a thread with all Infos on the Album
