It was from a mtv interview it used to be on youtube but was took down recently but he mentioned that he was gonna put them on his next project (doggumentary or whatever DR follow up. He said he took them off tha doggfather because he didnt wanna leech off his dead homie. You got a link for that other interview? I don't remember if I read that one

Freestyle conversation barely made the album it wasnt on any tracklists that ive seen so far until retail same with snoop bounce. But dre mixing change gon come and street life dj quik mixing midnite love, head doctor and dogg collar johnny j final mixdown of if theres a cure woulda been epicEven with dre mixng the project he wouldnt have made songs like freestyle conversation good
Some of the mixing was subpar but thats only on dope songs where that wouldve made a Difference.
Cant turn a shyt song into a good one even with dr Dres mixing skill.
Lyrically i think snoop was actually good but what annoyed me that he had some of them written for him.
IMO snoops lyrical ability is actually underrated, he has written dope lyrics during his career but the Reasons for the writers on Doggfather are understandable with the whole shyt goin on at that time.
His fallout with dre, his close homie pac dead, facin life in jail - if I was in that situation I wouldnt give a damn about making new music..
But still Im not a fan of snoop spittin tray dees Verse on downtown assassins for example. Sounds a bit off for me.
Im always kinda glad that they didnt drop the doggumentary ep on death row.
Judging from the track list it wouldve been another dissappointing release
PS:
Snoop actually did a track with shaq during the sessions

That og Doggfather mix tho
Exactly and if you look at the earlier tracklistings it followed the mafioso theme, though there were a couple funk oriented tracks.Ah ok I think I remember seeing that. Snoop was talking how the album was going to be this Godfather type with strings and orchestras but evolved into a funk type.

Whats i dont understand they had the right formula at first especially soopafly i dont see how u replace may i and i will survive with those two and i agree you thought coulda been a wayy better song theres a version of one of the earlier drafts that features techniecFunk oriented songs are always dope, but they were definetely goin with the wrong ones on the retail.
Songs like "Tear Em Off" are just repetitive and somehow "undeveloped". Same with freestyle conversation or "You Thought"
Especially "You Thought" still fukks me up, this shouldve been a classic song.
Soopafly really dissappointed me, normally he is a great producer but its like he hooked snoop up with two absolute throwaways on here....

No its still in vault. I wanna here that stone cold corleon track i wonder if it uses the same instrumental as the nate dogg one soopafly also produced. That version ever leaked ?
