If they released that and snoops upside ya head back to back that woulda killed it than have midnite love and a pac collab. In that case it woulda been suge. He picks the album name, track selection and singles but with this album he overseen it in the beginning but after vegas i believe snoop was in charge of the whole project .

Damn thats one of the mistakes they made, it the Artist himself is 100% responsible without listening to others & their ideas theres always the possibility he fukks it up

He is one of those artists that needs guidance when organizing an album. In the interview he said the album originally was "orchestra with live strings and horns" (change come, county blues,i will survive,wake up, street life,dogg collar,just watchin, get up get down, doggfather daz mix, too blacc,gangstaz life) than it evolved into having a funk twist to it(may i, upside ya head,eastside party,keep it real dogg,out the moon, if theres a cure) then it eventually became a bad mesh of different stuff.

Dre made sure that the production was A1 and D.O.C. coached the young cats in the beginning to teach em song writing & shyt and had them work on their lyrics until they was perfect. Same with Dre who made em do as many takes as they needed to make it perfect.

If only they had the same team to make a Doggystyle 2 or even a trilogy

Same with Dre who made em do as many takes as they needed to make it perfect.

Had dre mixed DF it woulda came out sounding like tha last meal and had quik mixed it woulda sounded identical to all eyez me which was the purpose.

Even with dre mixng the project he wouldnt have made songs like freestyle conversation good
Some of the mixing was subpar but thats only on dope songs where that wouldve made a Difference.
Cant turn a shyt song into a good one even with dr Dres mixing skill.

Lyrically i think snoop was actually good but what annoyed me that he had some of them written for him.
IMO snoops lyrical ability is actually underrated, he has written dope lyrics during his career but the Reasons for the writers on Doggfather are understandable with the whole shyt goin on at that time.
His fallout with dre, his close homie pac dead, facin life in jail - if I was in that situation I wouldnt give a damn about making new music..

But still Im not a fan of snoop spittin tray dees Verse on downtown assassins for example. Sounds a bit off for me.
