its cute how aaliyah fans try to pretend that she never fell off.

like that third album didnt happen.

:mjlol:

most deceased singers arent shoved down the public's throats to the point where people feel like they have to acknowledge her here-n-there. those stations barely play her breh. its pretty obvious, but we already know youre not a critical thinker.

OVO is drake? so its just like i expected: "some f*ckboy chit". thanks for confirming.

as for timbaland, i was just chiming in. i agree with both of yall. i agree with you that he has timeless music, but i agree with the other bul that most of timbaland's stuff aged horribly.

theres tons of female vocalists that came out after her that can sing her under the table.

alot of these aaliyah fans man. yall know yall dont know a dam thing about r&b but yall want to argue about it.:beli:

lol @ you demanding a top 5. CLOWN.

Her third album was actually acclaimed. It received glowing reviews even before she died and it opened to her biggest first week ever. Before her death, the album was less than 50K from Gold. It had only been out a little over a month.

Aaliyah wasn't shoved down the throat of the public. If we're going to play that game, then the same logic applies to most deceased artists. What you're implying is that Aaliyah is a special case. What makes her death different?

I could care less if it's "barely". The fact is that her records are played on those stations.

LOL @ me lacking critical thinking. I think you would actually have to know what that is before you could accuse someone of lacking it.

Who said that most of Timbaland's stuff aged horribly? Anything outside of any artists best work is going to age horribly. Nobody is going to pick out something they always thought was wack and sub-par and declare it timeless.

Stop deflecting faqqit..post these tons of singers you speak about or just shut the fukk up.

lol. if you need me to post names, then obviously youre not qualified to speak on the topic.

ur too much of a dikkhead to be up here trying to outsmart someone.

- yes. you lack critical thinking in like every thread ever. no matter the topic.

- and look at this. youre up here basing your argument on some critical acclaim and industry props. you know how much wack chit gets critical acclaim but no luv from the public??

- lol @ aaliyah not being shoved down the public's throat. you live in la-la land.

- the dude you were arguing with. thats who said that chit.

He's not wrong IMO. Revisionist history has been very kind to Aaliyah. She was gorgeous and made good music, but her music was very much "a sign of the times", something that we can reminisce over and tell ourselves how much shyt changed. If Missy or Ginuwine passed it would be similar. We miss that old Bassment Timbo sound, and we put our younger siblings and cousins onto it, now they miss it too

Aaliyah is not that much different from say, Jhene Aiko.

As an Artist, he's top 20 all time IMO. Melodically, dude is a beast.
