I agree that it's dragging on now, doesn't change the facts that DBZ is shallow and I love DBZ. DBZ is one of the pioneers of the shonen genre. It's long been left behind though. Cosign homie who brought up Yu Yu Hakusho. Dope ass series. One of my favorites. That whole dark tournament saga was piff.

dbz is NOT shallow. it only seems shallow 2 the average viewer because all yall be waitin on is someone 2 fight, but outside of that if u look at and examine all the characters and their backgrounds, u'll realize dbz is actually pretty deep, its just not as examined as thoroughly as most other anime.

He's not wrong though. Naruto has DBZ beat in every way.

More complex and engaging story.

Deeper characters.

Consistency.

It's an overall better show and manga. DBZ is great for what it is, but it's amazingly shallow and anime medium has come a long way since.

I'm saying man DBZ is so ridiculous it's almost retarded nowadays. No strategy or techniques to fighting just all out wacky power ups that have no basis or explanation just that they're Saiyans. Naruto at least starts out with rules as far as chakra types and how it relates to certain techniques, bloodline limits, village politics, and the establishment of a whole new ninja world itself. Ol boy caught in the first time he saw Goku go SSJ and all that other fukkery which kept getting repeated every time the good guys were getting their asses kicked. Wash rinse repeat. shyt is dull and boring.
No defining moments in Naruto?

Yo, does Naruto have any defining mements? Off the top of my head I can't really think of any. I'm talking moments that 10 years later you're still DAMN. DBZ has plenty. Goku going ssj for the first time, Gohan going ssj2 for the first time. Goku going ssj3 for the first time. Vegeta revealing he is a ssj. Vegeta and Goku's beam battle in their first fight. I mean I can go on and on.

you crazy... Vegeta/Gohan/Krillin vs. Ginyu Force is more intense than any of those fights.. and that isn't even a top 5 fight in DBZ

Yeah the rock lee vs gaara fight was nice too. So was Rock lee and Gaar vs kimimaro.

I try not to think about dbz characters invading other anime universes. They'd just straight rek shyt in most of them.
