yes i miss the tactics and strategy of pre-time skip naruto ...every shikamaru fight was just ..i always felt that in naruto..the good guys were always up against stronger bad guys but they always use strategy and their brains to trick and out smart their opponents..and don;t forget that in DBZ..anybody can be revived..which makes character deaths meaningless pretty much..that pretty much makes light of krillin's death when goku went SSJ ... but i think we can all agree FMA brother hood is the goat shounen anime

I won't disagree with that and actually it was the first anime I thought of.

He's not wrong though. Naruto has DBZ beat in every way.

More complex and engaging story.

Deeper characters.

Consistency.

It's an overall better show and manga. DBZ is great for what it is, but it's amazingly shallow and anime medium has come a long way since.

True, but to me DBZ combat style and characters are better than naruto, but I will give you that Naruto has a little bit more character development and story.

Nah you tripping it took that nikka 12 episodes to go SSJ and everyone knows that Gohans SSJ2 transformation (original Japanese version) is the greatest DBZ scene and >>>>Gokus transformation

Also what makes Naruto >>DBZ is the way they go about fighting using strategy and the outcome of the fight not being determined on who has the bigger power level. Naruto actually delves into ways to beat a person that might be stronger or even faster. DBZ is just yelling and screaming until your hair turns yellow and having these ridiculous fights where planets are destroyed during a fight with ridiculous power ups that make no sense at all. Trust me I was on DBZ before it even got to the states and CN and was a fan of it before most people knew what it was and it was a great show the time it dropped but ill put a shyt load of animes above it easily.

Hell naw, Goku's first > Gohan's ssj2. shyt was just too epic and was the first time we saw Goku legit pissed off.

As for naruto, I hate that they gotta explain every thing. They spend more time doing that than actual fighting. Now the same can be said about dbz when it comes to them powering up, but I LIKE when they power up. You get to feel the scale of which these nikkas fight on by them seeing rip the world apart just getting ready. All that shyt you said about dbz I love. Planets being blown up and shyt. I love it all. And to me ain't too many animes I would put on the same plane as dbz.

DBZ is almost literally a bunch of fights stages with Super Mario Bros level story behind them. its basically all battles and not much else. even worse is the fact that Toriyama clearly wanted to get out of it but was basically forced into the Buu saga.

I'm not even being nostalgic. When dbz is good, it's really fukking good. Naruto ain't got shyt like Goku vs Vegeta the first time, some of the Frieza vs Goku or Goku vs Cell. Not to mention shyt like Piccolo sacrificing himself to save Gohan. A nikka almost shed a tear when I first seen that.

i'm not the biggest Naruto fan. i prefer Bleach over Naruto even but DBZ was a quality work for its time but doesn't hold up well. i actually think Bleach is in the same style of DBZ in that all you really care about is the battles and ya favorite characters and the story becomes irrelevant.

Yo, does Naruto have any defining mements? Off the top of my head I can't really think of any. I'm talking moments that 10 years later you're still DAMN. DBZ has plenty. Goku going ssj for the first time, Gohan going ssj2 for the first time. Goku going ssj3 for the first time. Vegeta revealing he is a ssj. Vegeta and Goku's beam battle in their first fight. I mean I can go on and on.

I agree that it's dragging on now, doesn't change the facts that DBZ is shallow and I love DBZ. DBZ is one of the pioneers of the shonen genre. It's long been left behind though. Cosign homie who brought up Yu Yu Hakusho. Dope ass series. One of my favorites. That whole dark tournament saga was piff.
