But he DID play through injuries :dahell:
And he DID blow out his knee several times and couldn't play through it:dahell:

Kobe played through injuries, and he also sat out when the injuries were too great....so that statement doesn't even make sense
It make clear sense. He didn’t blow his knee out the first year without Shaq is my point.

After 2003 Kobe could let his knee issues hamper him. But he didn’t he improved other areas of his game to compensate his loss in athleticism. Dudes like Mac & Penny didn’t do that. It’s like they were content with mediocrity

LOL at content with mediocrity
Penny always had an all around game that wasn't based solely on athletism, which is why he was able to still play in the league so long even with the knee problems that were WAY more problematic than what Kobe had. But no matter how much other skills you have if you can't run, jump or cut you can only be but so effective

But if you're telling us that if Kobe was plagued with the exact same knee problems and surgeries as Penny he would still be able to be a legendary player just because he's Kobe than I can't do nothing but :banderas: at your stannery

:patrice:

Shaq is one precarious dude. The stuff this dude be saying sometimes is just:snoop:

I know Penny was a more efficient player...definitely a better playmaker. I could see how he was probably more fun for Shaq to play with. But to say he was “just as good”:why:

Penny was never as dominant as Kobe was. At his peak he was a 21/8/7 guy

At Kobe’s peak he was a 30/5/6 guy

That’s a big difference. Don’t get Shaq sometimes...

More to the game than points...Iverson averaged more than kobe....does that mean he was a better player?

So does Harden....

By the way I think Kobe was better....

Kobe knee was bone on bone and still won back 2 back championships.

Yes Kobe would still been a HOFer. Because he would adjusted. He had a goal to be the best. It’s not like Penny career ended. He kept playing and didn’t do shyt.

Don’t forget Kobe winning a title with a useless index finger on his shooting hand :wow:

Didn’t Penny have microfracture surgery? Back then that was a serious surgery (still is I believe) which he was never the same. Didn’t Amare Stoudemire have the same surgery

Penny was an elite player, on track to be a Hall of Famer. Every bit as talented as Kobe, perhaps more talented.

Kobe's relentless drive to become better and to win is what separates him from the other talented players in history.

12 pages of Stan’s ready to fight

At the end of the day the bolded, but also don’t down play how that franchise was not inept, and made sure it wasn’t Gladys Knight and he was playing with pips, shaq left Orlando and Penny was it, Kobe had talent, but that nikka work ethic was sociopathic, he ate slept and breathed training

I vaguely remember a story about Kobe practicing with that finger taped up so often that it healed funny. But I can't remember if that was real or some urban legend gossipy ish.
