Though it’s too early to speculate on who will fill the void left by Sharpe, McCarthy suspects it will likely be a “person of color,” noting the “difficult” optics of casting another white male beside Bayless.

Honestly if Skip wants another cohost he’s going to have to find someone who has something to gain by putting up with him
Established personalities like Irvin, Broussard, etc. don’t need Skip. More than likely don’t like Skip. And more than likely would get bored talking about the same 3-4 topics every day. Its going to have to be somebody on the come up

Difference is Skip has reverence for Michael Irvin. He would never diss Irvin like he does Shannon.
Former athletes & Hollywood are a focal part of sports media more than ever. Look at SAS’s broadcast last night of the Finals game. He had a lineup of celebrities and Hall of Famers on his show. Despite being an a$$hole too, SAS unlike Skip hasn’t burnt bridges and has built relationships with this new world of sports media. Skip can’t do that bc he is a curmudgeon and overall terrible person. Skip’s brand might have worked for him over the past two decades but he might become a relic here soon if things keep trending the way they are.
The difference between that SAS and Shannon have aspirations outside of the sports world, while Skip could honestly care less about it and the relationships are irrelevant to him.
Skip has always been this way and both he and SAS have made that very clear over the years. Dude is what he is at this point.

Jen Hale isn't based in LA. She hosts from New Orleans I believe. B/c I know she covers the Pelicans throughout the season (plus she does NFL on FOX).

I was about to say, damn skip cold with it. Cowherd took Joy Taylor from him, then Jenny was talking back and moved on to better things after he kicked her off. Crazy even hosts get "made" being on Skip's show.
