TYRONE GA!
That’s probably the point. Can you imagine if that happens. Give Dak one more year and then Start Shedeur. Oh and Dallas picks 12 too! That’s a big possibility

those cap hits with Dak's contract are not worth it. :mjlol:

Shedeur getting drafted later could be a blessing in disguise. His odds of succeeding will improve if he can sit and learn his first year on a good team.

There’s a couple of things wrong with this.

1- Being drafted later also increases the odds you are not going to make it as a starting QB and/or you will be a limited one. Ask Kenny Pickett, Will Levis, sam Howell, hendon Hooker, etc. All of them got the ‘oh no this is good for you!’ treatment when they slid

2- A common mismomer about scouts/GMs when it comes to drafting QBs is that they’re clueless and it’s a crapshoot. It’s really not. If a guy goes outside the top 10, top 15 there’s like a 95% chance he ain’t it. Where GMs struggle is differentiating guys at the TOP of the draft. But we are already seeing—-as I said 2 months ago—-that they have already done that with Shaduer. He is not on Cam’s level as a prospect. So…

3- If he sides to say 8-15 range, he’s still gona be expected to start. If he slides beyond that, well it’s overwhelming likely that he is going to be an ass QB whenever he does play :manny: Not to mention QB career expectancy has gone up so it’s a very small window of teams that are good but also have a QB on his way out. We’d be talking about Pitt or the rams. It’s a very narrow window of teams that make sense for him in round 1 and maybe beyond. My guess is he goes to the Giants….in round 2

Good points. But if he gets drafted to the Raiders he probably won’t be expected to start.

True. What makes it tough to navigate is QB’s ‘life expectancy’ is much older now. Geno is 34. He’s got a good 3 years in him. Also Pete Carroll isn’t trying to rebuild

Plus we’ve seen mid QBs like Darnold, baker, Goff lead teams far. So if I’m Oakland, I’d rather address QB in 1 or 2 years and just actually try to win now. #6 pick is very rich especially if teams reach for QBs early

They're all trash though and Hendon dropped because of injury. None of them are on Sheduer's level as prospects either. Pickett and Levis went way higher than they should have.

You're just going to ignore Rodgers and Lamar sliding and landing with great organizations?

If the QB is good than being on a team that's ready made can help speed up their development or at least have them in a better position to succeed. You can go to QB hell in Cleveland and get thrown in the fire, the Titans, or slip and maybe land with the Raiders who have a better situation with Pete Carroll and Geno to learn from.

it has though

Aaron Rodgers slid down in 2005 because he was cocky

He couldve went #1 overall if he wasnt cocky

"The other thing as Alex at the time was a good kid -- a very good person, a safe choice, always trying to please," former 49ers coach Mike Nolan said Tuesday morning on NFL HQ. "On the other hand, Aaron was very cocky, very confident, arrogant. So you can say, 'Why didn't you take him to begin with?' Because that's really what your best quarterbacks look like. They aren't very pleasing. They aren't very safe."
