Herein lies the problem. The general sports atmosphere today from fans to even teams is catastrophically
delusional
Dak Prescott was 2nd in MVP voting 12 months ago.
Let’s pause for a second and I’ll repeat that:
Dak Prescott was 2nd in MVP voting 12 months ago
Yet the general energy from fans is: he sucks

If he sucks, my ngga what the hell is Shaduer sanders gonna do?! As a commanders fan PLEASE go get Shaduer
I disagree.
The problem isn't that Dak sucks at football.
The problem is that people don't see through the manipulations of the media to make them THINK that Dak DOESN'T suck at football--with suck being defined as: he's never gonna win a Super Bowl.
Because: so many, if not most, if not 99%, of NFL fans look at this shyt as if its 32 teams competing against one another to win a Super Bowl. But that's not what it is... it's 32 teams working TOGETHER to ensure that as many of those 32 teams as possible have as many fans as possible THINKING their team can win a Super Bowl. There is a chasm between those two philosophies, and it flows organizationally downwards from ownership mandates.
That's why you'll see shyt like "Drake Maye is the next Josh Allen," or "Will Levis is the next Josh Allen," or "Jaxson Dart is the next Josh Allen." But they're not, because what Josh Allen is, was, and always will be is a guy with a goddamn once-in-a-lifetime bazooka grafted on to the right side of his body. He can literally throw a football OUT of a stadium. That's not something you learn, that's something you're born with. And he ended up right where he needed to be with a team that needed a new stadium deal, and voila.
But that HOPE is sold to other fanbases, to get them watching. I watched probably 7 or 8 Drake Maye games last year. He sucks. He's skittish in the pocket, he bails on reads, he can't throw guys open. He's significantly worse than Mac Jones, and Mac Jones was baaaad. But what are you gonna hear? "He's got next." Why? Because if the media came out and said "welp, it's hopeless in the East, none of those teams are going to catch Buffalo yet again" what happens? Every NFL viewer from New Jersey to Boston loses interest before the season starts. So you get hope.
Alright, so, how does this shyt fit in with Shaduer?
Just check your feed, your sports websites you visit, any network show this morning:
He is literally the league's narrative golden goose.
fukk winning the Super Bowl,
the league has a new cash cow.
There has been more Shaduer Sanders talk this weekend than the entire NBA and NHL and every other NFL team storyline
combined.
So whats happening?
NARRATIVELY
this shyt has to be sold to a fanbase that will do the heavy lifting themselves.
If a team drafted him early? The expectations are: win now. When he doesn't? The golden goose is cooked. Everyone would say he's a fraud. He would follow the Justin Fields arc. Boring, overrated, good luck on your third stop.
You see his tape. You see his college stats. This is a very good quarterback. NFL pedigree. Mentored by hall of famers. Success everywhere. Pro-offense ready. You think any other QB that put up those numbers with an NFL coordinator in a D1 school would fall this far? Never.
He's falling this far to set up the narrative. Underdog. Give him a chance. Let's see what the kid can do. Prove em all wrong.
And then when he DOES come in and light it up? It'll be for a team who's season is circling the toilet bowl. "Throw the rook in, let's see what he's got."
In a situation like that, the coach already has one foot out the door.
And what happens next?
In comes Prime.
In comes some of the highest ratings for games the league has seen in forever.
This is the beginning of what will be a very fun, and very engaging narrative arc for YEARS. Enjoy it.
IS THIS NOT WHY YOU ARE HERE? IS THIS NOT WHAT YOU CAME FOR? ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!?!
