I hate when ya be dishonest.

If Steph Curry was darkskinned, he’d be hailed as da GOAT.

nope, I would not say he's the goat, people want people to feel bad for curry and that's laughable because he hasn't went thorough shyt other greats go through. For the record I'm darkskinned you honestly think I don't hear every "damn boy you black" joke in the book growing up? I joked back, and the shyt did not effect me one damn bit, Curry is a millionaire that never had to struggle in his life, so excuse me for not feeling bad because people make lightskin jokes about Steph.

This.

I'm lightskin and been the biggest critic of that bum. He's not that good. Plain and simple. His skin tone has nothing to do with it. nikkas respect Klay and he's just as light skin as Steph.

For those who think this conversation shouldn’t be had, could I ask why not?

Even Skip was asking the right questions, the moderator sat back and let the 2 black men have a discussion

What’s lost from the conversation? Just want an understanding of that perspective

Most of the audience watching a show on Fox Sports is white. We don't need to be discussing in house issues around white folks.

If this conversation was happening on a platform that was majority black then it would make sense. We should be discussing issues that are internal to our community on white platforms.

Yeah I stopped watching at that point. Too many unintelligent points being made. The whole "house nikka" shyt being all lightskin slaves or that the being raped daily was somehow better than working the land notion is just fukking stupid. They were having a discussion in front of millions that was packed with misinformation or false narratives. Thats why you dont have nikkas like that talking about black issues to the white population of the world.

You need to blame Malcolm then

I don't want to hear colorism talk from Shannon because he dates white women, and I don't like this kind of topic being discussed around cacs because it's just used to shyt on black men. If we're going to have a real discussion about this then we need to discuss how swirling is only seen as bad when it's the black man doing it.

There isn’t a “black” platform though

You think Dell Curry wasn't trying to sustain a look for his seeds when he chose his wife? You think his sons didn't do the same?
You think the Black parents of the current crop of biracial NBA players weren't "fighting the power" or at least knew about white supremacy, but still made the decision for their seeds to look a certain way?
I'm all for your rights to choose your spouse but
-don't claim your ambiguous offspring as Black when convenient and after you chose your non-Black baby moms to ensure your seeds don't look Black
-don't be talmbowt Black folks fault for not embracing you as a biracial when your parents' goal and your intentions is to not be seen as a "typical" Black

Colorism is one the the few topics where the difference in your actions and rhetoric can't be juelzed and easily flip flop
Kinda hard to be blaming the white man while purposely impregnating his daughter (lacking the self control to just get a taste and KIM)
it's simple, you make certain decisions in life, then there're certain lanes that you're regulated too

One of the dangers of identity politics is a person being apart of various groups and watering down the efforts to achieve a goal that benefits one of those groups so the other group isn't undermined

Modern times, within the black community, light skinned dudes probably get shytted on the most:heh:

Dudes & chicks think they're too soft or pretty.Even women of other races majority of the time want

a dark skinned brother when they choose to date a black man.I know niccaz will run in here & try

to rebuttal what I said, but I can only speak from my own experiences.I've been around sisters who'd

just flat out look at light skinned dudes like:scust:.And I'm not trying to dump on light skinned

dudes.I don't put my mind into that kind of bullshyt.I just never really understood it.Even the women in

my family.None of them fukk with light skinned dudes. Is it the "Too pretty"/"soft" stigma? In the psycho ego/

psychology of dating/sex.Women normally wanna play the role of "pretty" "soft".Does being framed up

next to a light skinned dude interfere with that?On top of that, the whole "protector" thing. If a chick buys into

the light skinned/soft thing, will she not view a light skinned dude as "food" out here in them streets? Incapable

of really protecting her?Basically making the puzzy go cold & dry because subconsciously, they dont want to risk

having babies with your soft azz? This is especially true for the sisters. No other race of women in America struggles

with self image/establishing a beauty standard like the American Black Woman. When you've been beat over the head,

brainwashed, and made to feel unpretty for centuries...Wouldn't that create a dynamic of NOT wanting to be snuggled

up next to a pretty light skinned dude? If you're of the belief that this society views light skin as more pretty/desirable, would

that not make a weaker willed black woman feel like the "lesser" one in the relationship?Even if it's only on a subconscious level?

Being with a "pretty" nicaa will only help to further eclipse your struggling self image, right? Through the public eye, I mean?

I know people will say "fukk what people think", but that's easier said than done.I bet it effects a large amount of sisters out there.

Which is why struggling beauties want a beast looking muthafukka. It makes them feel like the trophy and not the leper.Otherwise,

"How can my prettiness stand out if this pretty muthafukka is viewed as prettier than me?:ohhh:"

Most of the time the people I'm around says it as a joke, they not really serious. Every lightskinned person I grew up with got lightskinned jokes it's not that serious. shyt me being darkskined I got jokes, and I joked right back nobody was being serious. Every great player gets hate, if you think that's hate do you not remember kobe after Colorado and lebron after the decision that level of hate is something curry will never feel and thankfully so. Also the players in the league see the bias the media has while covering curry which rubbers them the wrong way. I ask you this if lebron and kd were Steph's color do you honestly think the get the level of hate they have gotten during there careers?

Cosign.

Colorism is not that big a deal. Its mostly jokes. Even I say shyt about Steph being lightskin and I'm lightskin myself. Its not serious.

There was no reason for this conversation to happen on a white platform like Fox Sports.

Colorism isn’t the issue it once was with brothers, but it’s definitely still a big issue with our sisters

No its not. The dark skin women crying about colorism are mostly just unattractive and think their skin tone is the reason men aren't interested when in reality they just ain't good looking.

Good looking dark skin woman get as much love (if not more love) from black men as a light skin woman who looks good.
