It’s not just the light skin
If Michael Beasley was a star he wouldn’t be as marketable as steph
The Christianity and wholesome family man image combined with the complexion pushed him over the top

And that point from Chris about dark skin players benefiting from field worker lineage was a reach

Modern times, within the black community, light skinned dudes probably get shytted on the most:heh:

Dudes & chicks think they're too soft or pretty.Even women of other races majority of the time want

a dark skinned brother when they choose to date a black man.I know niccaz will run in here & try

to rebuttal what I said, but I can only speak from my own experiences.I've been around sisters who'd

just flat out look at light skinned dudes like:scust:."

:dahell: I'm trying to figure out if you're a white dude pretending to be black or you're just a delusional dark skin nikka trying to make your ugly ass feel better.

The biggest black male sex symbols of our generation are almost all light skin (Chris Brown, Trey Songz, T.I.). Literally all the guys girls in my age group were fiending for growing up were light skin.

There's a reason you never hear light skin dudes complaining when it comes to interest from the opposite sex. We got the best of both worlds. We get all the dark skin self-hating women who just wanna be with us cause we light skin and we also get all the exotic/white women who see all black men as the same. Literally the only group that prefers dark skin dudes over light skin is self-hating light skin women who are insecure about their skin color. That's it.

No its not. The dark skin women crying about colorism are mostly just unattractive and think their skin tone is the reason men aren't interested when in reality they just ain't good looking.

Good looking dark skin woman get as much love (if not more love) from black men as a light skin woman who looks good.

There is truth in this, but we can’t pretend that fairer skin women will be considered “more” attractive on average simply because of their complexion.... Music celebrities show you this in their videos.... Hollywood shows this in their movies, and most of society and too many brothers concur...... it’s there man... You can probably make a case that a lot of women over exaggerate this particular issue, but it is an issue no doubt

That's your perspective....I don't count famous niccaz.Fame is a cheat code.I'm talking about the typical, everyday folks in my circle.

But I don't even like discussing this topic with certain niccaz. They get in their feelings. You started off in yours

i think its moreso the combination of colorism AND the clean-cut image AND the silver spoon.

if delonte west had steph's success, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

In this particular case I dont think Black ppl hate on him for his skin color. So I disagree with Barnes/Broussard.

I do believe his color makes him more acceptable to WHITE people and any other non black race.

Same way if Obama was Shannons color would he have been elected? We all know the answer to that if we are being honest.
Black folks don't necessarily hate on him for being light-skinned but may recognize the privilege from the bolded.
He has that biracial stigma in his head. They are seeing shyt that doesnt exist. Nobody, and by that I mean no BLACK AMERICANS, hating on light skins no more. This ain't the 50s.
Now this I can't agree with.

There are lots of famous black celebrities. I cited the ones girls I grew up with liked the MOST. Are you gonna argue that Chris Brown, Trey Songz, and T.I. weren't the biggest sex symbols of all black celebrities? The point is that black women I was around liked light skin black male celebrities the most. There weren't dark skin male celebrities getting as much love as those 3.

I hear more complaining from dark skin men not getting interest from women that light skin men. All you did in that post was projection. You never hear light skin men complaining about not getting interest from black women. I've never heard it. And I sure as hell have never had my skin being a negative. I got nothing but compliments growing up from women for my complexion and hair texture. Especially dark skin women.

Literally every nikka in the league celebrates in one way or another when they hit a 3. Especially when they get hot and hit multiple in a row, which Steph is prone to do.

:comeon:Youre either missing the point or youre being obtuse.

Steph is arrogant.. Yes he celebrates like many others do.. But he does so excessively. And Despite this, he gets treated by media and fans like the nice guy who never celebrates all while constantly having the word "humble" tied to his name for some odd reason. Some speculate that this reason has to do with his harmless boyish appearance. AKA a he gets a "pass"

A lot of the hate Steph gets definitely has to do with him being light skin. Can't count on my hands how many times we talk ball at a function and Steph's name is always prefaced with something about his color like "that waffle colored" or "light skin ass" "soft, high yellow ass" nikka.

.

Stop...Its mainly jokes. You know this. When people annoy you, you clown them... he annoys people so they toss in the lightskin dig. Look how many fxcked up hairlines there are in the NBA yet we only comment on one. Why, because people are annoyed by Bron. He isnt hated simply because of his hairline.

We gonna act like every light skin player is just indiscriminately hated for no reason?

So if that's a marker of the desirability of light skin men/lack of desirability of dark skin men, then why isn't the fact that light skin women don't complain about lack of attention but dark skin women do an indication that ppl prefer light skin women over dark skin women?

I said this weeks ago, some folks rather be obtuse. If you know you know, nobody ever wanted to get cut up by some light skin dude on the court.

You musta been hooping wit some lames then :what:

You'd have a point if you're talking about a group of black people playing with a white guy. Nobody wants to get busted up by the one white guy on the court so I could give you that. But a light skinned black person? Nah. Nobody is looking at him any different than the other black guys on the court..
