And this is why this board will say Pac is GOAT but say Jay is fallin off. Pac is sht lyrically and his flow is garbage but because of his subject matter people make him out to be the best. Same situation here. You're not a fan of the braggodocious Jay so you say he fell off lyrically when in fact that did not happen

Say something:youngsabo:

dont even ask how

Pac at 25 >>

Back to Jay..as a fan I want Jay to go in the studio and let his art reach new heights..we are passed that "I got more money than everybody" tired ass rap. We are passed that..we want some creativity breh.
His status demands that!
And he wasnt spitting shiit on those albums..you are obviously in love with him by saying that..:to: NOW he WAS spitting on AG..but that was a theme album so he was forced to step up his lyrics and concepts.

Lets get it Jay..we know you can do it.:sadcam:

Lyricism has to do with things such as wordplay, alliteration, metaphors, double entendres, etc etc.

Pac had no technique and again his flow was garbage. And here you go again, equating subject matter to lyricism. See you keep doing that and you're only proving my point

Jay didnt fall off LYRICALLY he's still good But you want Jay to change his subject matter, and thats fine.

But dnt make the mistake of saying that Jay fell off. Cuz Jay Z lyrically is just as good as he was when he was on TBA. But ya keep yapping some more about how Jay Z allegedly lost some skill and sht and how he should switch his subject matter and make an album about his old life or make an album catering to the Underdog Stans of the world:beli:

:manny:

As for me Ima bump dat "Thats MY bytch" track:ooh:

Breh

The man is almost 50... It's pretty much all gonna be a victory lap at this point until he dies..As a culture if we are depending on middle aged men to push us forward we are headed towards extinction...

Let him do what he does and let his fans love him for it...If you're expecting something fresh or innovative you are looking in the wrong direction..

What Nas did with LIG is an anomaly for dudes his age... You can't honestly expect everyone else to live up to that standard...It's just not gonna happen..

Kendrick just dropped some heat and his whole camp seems to potentially be the "future".. Just enjoy that and realize things are never gonna be like they were back in the day...

Like people have said... He doesn't owe anyone anything..

:stopitslime: Nobody ever claimed Pac was a lyrical juggernaut..he was the complete package tho...save that for another time tho.

Just show me these incredible Shakespearean verses on KC and BP3..verses that changed Hip Hop and had people in AWE years later.

I hear you...but this right here KILLS me..the fukk yall mean he doesnt owe us? we buy his albums..we go to his shows, buy his dvd's and books.

All we want in return is a good album from time to time...he's leaning on his status about him being the greatest but cant back it up the actual music.

Person A: THIS SONG IS A BANGER
PersonB: THIS SONG IS WACK

*hour argument that goes in circles for an hour only to end up with the same conclusions*

And no discussing music isnt futile, but how do we rate the quality of music? by one person or group of people's opinion?

Or should we rate by the overrall sales of the piece of art and the general reception of it?

My discussion of the music ain't that watered down. What grade you in, breh? :skip:

This is where me and you differ...I haven't bought anything relating to him since the BP2...That was over a decade ago...

But if you have still been spending your hard earned money on his trash then I can see why you're mad...

:manny:

But ultimately, what does that tell you about the choices you should make about how to spend your money in the future? He's not gonna change..And his core base is content with mediocrity, so it's all on you at this point..

Depends what type of subject matter you looking for

But if you're just looking for verses for the technique displayed on said tracks I'll list some

1.Dig a Hole
2.Beach Chair
3.Trouble(3rd verse)
4.Run This town
5.Thank You
6.What talkin bout
7.The Prelude

I can post more but point is, WHat made Pac so big wasnt the stuff his technique at all, it was his voice and his character.

Aside from that, Pac had horrible breath control, his flow was garbage, there was nothing special about his lyrics(no DE's, limited vocab, little to no use of alliteration, one dimensional metaphors, and his storytelling was overrated).

People say his music was good not because of his technique but because of the passion you can hear in his voice when he spoke about "concious" issues.

But when it comes to the actual technique aspect of being a rapper...Pac was garabage:birdman:

Anyways :skip:
