This is where me and you differ...I haven't bought anything relating to him since the BP2...That was over a decade ago...

But if you have still been spending your hard earned money on his trash then I can see why you're mad...

:manny:

But ultimately, what does that tell you about the choices you should make about how to spend your money in the future? He's not gonna change..And his core base is content withexcellence, so it's all on you at this point..

I agree with gator_king.

Jay at this point isn't that hungry anymore. He's ont top of the world in his mind, and feels he has nothing to prove...so he's gonna continue giving us Ghetto Techno and mediocre raps over dubstep beats boasting about his wealth until he dies...

Depends what type of subject matter you looking for

But if you're just looking for verses for the technique displayed on said tracks I'll list some

1.Dig a Hole
2.Beach Chair
3.Trouble(3rd verse)
4.Run This town
5.Thank You
6.What talkin bout
7.The Prelude

I can post more but point is, WHat made Pac so big wasnt the stuff his technique at all, it was his voice and his character.

Aside from that, Pac had horrible breath control, his flow was garbage, there was nothing special about his lyrics(no DE's, limited vocab, little to no use of alliteration, one dimensional metaphors, and his storytelling was overrated).

People say his music was good not because of his technique but because of the passion you can hear in his voice when he spoke about "concious" issues.

But when it comes to the actual technique aspect of being a rapper...Pac was garabage:birdman:

Anyways :skip:

Why are you discussing any of this when at the end of the day Pac sold more records than Jay and is overall a more popular pop culture figure?

You can even use the your own self promoted metrics of "greatness" for yourself...And you expecting people to take you seriously?

Or are you just in your emotions again and can't help yourself?

Ionno....I thought Jay was spitting his ass off on KC and BP3.....especially Kingdom Come.....that shyt suffered from production.....he should've had Just Blaze produce the whole album cause he seemed like the only one that was on his game on that album....

Jay can drop a .5 album and it has nothing to do with his legacy. He's not a full-time rapper at this point...at this point an album at all is a bonus to his fans.

KRS-One, Rakim, Kane, Kool G Rap, all types of dudes of his stature and in the same age range have no such expectation

:whoa:

I didn't realize Hov was that :flabbynsick:

Jay can drop a dud and still be solidified, he has the masses in his hands, and his cult like fans will eat up whatever he drops, even if it is garbage.

Nah, Im trying to expose the double standards people have for a Jay and a Pac
And to expose people's lack of attention to the technical aspect of rap.:yeshrug:
And those same people will talk about people fallin off lyrically

Are the albums that dropped this year really that good to make Jay z be like "Damn, I gotta do somethin'". I'm not sure about that

The closest is Nas, and that's because Nas is in the same age group as Jay and being able to drop an album such as LIG.

But as for guys like Kendrick and Lupe, Jay probably sees them as younguns doing their thing and eating at the kids table, while he is chillin with the adults at the bigger table.

Saying that Pac was never lyrical doesn't make Hov any less :rudy: lyrically over the years. being able to emote and be straight forward in his lyrics was always his style to begin with. Jay on the other hand has eroded over the years.

A better example to help your point would be one where people big up a rapper that has fallen off lyrically, yet shyts on Jay for falling off lyrically.

Back to Jay..as a fan I want Jay to go in the studio and let his art reach new heights..we are passed that "I got more money than everybody" tired ass rap. We are passed that..we want some creativity breh.
His status demands that!
And he wasnt spitting shiit on those albums..you are obviously in love with him by saying that..:to: NOW he WAS spitting on AG..but that was a theme album so he was forced to step up his lyrics and concepts.

Lets get it Jay..we know you can do it.:sadcam:

This is what seperates fans from stans, stop begging and be happy with what you have already gotten. If Jay drops another album with exactly one hot song on it then that's just one more hot song on my ipod and I'll appreciate that.

Yall seem to forget how long Jay has been doing this at this level and yall still fiending for more, this thread proves that. Look at Nas, he dropped a great album but nobody seems to have cared, except of course for his hard core fanbase. If Jay did those numbers he'd be officially "fallen off" with Nas and he wouldn't be able to make the moves he makes now. It'll happen one day I'm sure, but it's amazing it hasn't happened yet.

As far as opinions are concerned, we all have different ones, some people will actually try to tell you E-40 is a GOAT, if that doesn't prove that art is subjective what will?

Nah thats what seperates real fans from stan fans..who accept every little fart jay lets loose on a record as a blessing..we should be able critique his work if he keeps failing to deliver the goods..
