Serious Discussion: In what way could Sony combat Xbox Gamepass

Id like Psnow to stream better and to have more ps2 games added. Thats it. They got the service, just need to give it a lil more attention. Its got a lot of potential.

Just a Gen ago everyone was complaining about Xbox's always online approach. Now Gamepass is the next best thing. Goodluck trying to play your gamepass games offline...

Sony don't need to as long as they are providing quality titles. PS Now needs improve its library with PS2 games and latency but that's it.

Sony didn't win a generation by being consumer friendly,BC or by giving the best services. It had won because of games. Simply games. Great, good and mediocre first party games.

They will eventually do something with PS Now when Xbox is an actual threat..so far they didn't have to because Xbox was not a threat for the last 5 years

Game pass subs cost about the same as 0365 subs. I think you all are vastly underestimating how much money you make off these subscriptions.

I don’t understand why Sony would even WANT to compete with Game Pass. Selling games at full price has been far more lucrative for them than offering up their prized 1st party exclusives on day 1 for 9.99 or whatever Game Pass costs. Can you imagine people copping PS Now for a month off of cdkeys just to play TLO2 and GOT and then dip? That’s $120 in revenue reduced to $10. I think Sony has and will continue to have success with their current business model, unless they start copying MS out of fear.

I would definitely be doing that.

How could Sony combat? Should they create their own version of Gamepass?

Xbox singlehanded destroys Sony tax on video games at 70 dollars with a $9 subscription fee that always plays multiple generation of games via cellphones etc... With the addition of EA Access possibly Sega and now Bethesda.

This might be the end of Sony if they don’t come out with a quick game plan to combat. ‘Sony exclusives won’t be enough this generation and those games take years to make.

Sony should do what they're doing now. Gamepass isn't something they need to do.

What's a dumb statement is for you to act like you know people with an Xbox that don't have Gamepass. It's hard to believe that when everyone I know that plays games on an Xbox has Gamepass and a lot with PS Now on PS4, and somehow you know none with Gamepass. You're lying out your ass.

It's damn near impossible not to have Gamepass when it was a dollar for month for like 2 years and MS pushed it down your throat when you turned the console on everytime

Theres 60 million Xbox’s in homes. There’s obviously lots of Xbox players that don’t have Gamepass

I will own a XBOX this gen.... I'm not sure if I'll have Game Pass as of yet. I want to review what titles are offered before I make that type of commitment. When I owned my PS4, I only had PS Plus. I saw no reason to have PS now because I've already played those games. I haven't played any of the XBOX games being a somewhat hardcore Sony man. The same could be said for long time XBOX people switching to Playstation; they may find a lot of utility in PS Now.

I think MS model will work provided they start delivering AAA titles, whether they're on Game Pass or not

What i'm saying is I'm not even an Xbox gamer like that and I'm the only person in my circle I know who has ever had Gamepass. Even the ones I know who primarily play Xbox don't have it.

I like the premise of Gamepass and it has potential, but it aint some major selling point or game changer like people on here hype it up to be, at least not as it currently is. I'm keeping my eye on it though, if Microsoft's goal was to get attention to their console and first party games they definitely at least have my attention, just haven't sold me fully on it yet.

You don't get left behind by supposed competitors you embarrassed so bad they now hide their unit sales because it's embarrassing in comparison to yours. Sony is the industry leader by a lot because people like what they're doing.
