Act like a fukking retard breh.

You undermined the entirety of your post with "Microsoft is just in a different weight class".

That isn't some factor to just overlook you silly little tart. I stressed that Microsoft isn't the only entity to blame for these practices. However being the juggernaut that they are, in a "different weight class as you put it, the damages will be more profound. Naturally this will face greater criticism and scrutiny as it more rapidly bring about the undesirable outcomes.
You hate MS so much you don't understand your own hypocrisy.

So instead of looking at the source of the reason why it's taking a company like Microsoft BILLIONS to get into the gaming industry and buy and compete with companies a fraction of its size, we should instead ignore that and just restrict it purchasing large publishers. "undesirable outcomes" are already in place. It's just comfortable for you currently, but if MS bowed out gaming tomorrow the industry really would be stalled something fierce.

The fact that it takes trillion dollar companies to compete in a market dominated by 2 companies barely cracking 100 billion should tell you all you need to know about how consolidated the industry is now. The fact of the matter is you like how things are now so it's ok that Sony can throw it's weight around but if anyone else comes along and wants a piece they have to find some different kind of why to make it work that doesn't disturb your illusion of this perfect gaming ecosystem.

Gaming is a ripe sector and pieces are going to get bought up, year after year I'd rather it be by people who have been in the gaming industry with a track record and helped it grow. Instead of random entities across the global that are just moving and flipping stock.

Aka sony, Nintendo and MS.

As a game pass subscriber buy everybody possible.:yeshrug:
You don't understand what that would mean for gaming. If they owned the industry they'd start producing more trash games for you, actual game pass fodder. You'd be paying game pass prices for 2 bangers a year and a bunch of fukkin garbage

why didnt they buy bungie when they had the chance???:what:
No real money in bungee
Notice how Matt Ass only said "spend Sony out of business". Not "develop anything of worth and compete with them to gain the upper hand". These niccas really wanted a monopoly controlled Microsoft thru big bank take lil bank, straight p*ssy
You sound like lord Beas-itch right now, crying over what the industry as a whole is gravitating towards. The actual developers want to be bought so they don't have to worry about going under if a game fails because development cost is higher than ever.

The fact you Sony Stans universally act like you don't understand that is not a coincidence. It's a collective bytchass'dness shared amongst all of you, I'm concerned about a massive brainwashing :manny:

Console radiation perhaps? Revenge for the atomic bomb? They dumbing you down somehow :jbhmm:

I am all in on gamepass, but I think industry consolidation is a dangerous game. We've seen the damage that the big 4 movie studios have done to the entertainment industry, and you don't want that in video games.

:mjlol:
No to grease their own pockets 1st and foremost obviously

There yall go deflecting. :stopitslime:

Either competition is good for consumers and the industry or it isn't. It's taking MS, Tencent, Amazon, Embracer( lol) Google and others to try and put up a fight against...

Sony and Nintendo

And only MS out that group has decades of market experiences, home grown IP's and consoles on the market consistently. And it's cost them billions just to be "in last place" as yall like to make note of.

So out of the Trillion dollar Corps trying to get into the gaming industry yeah, I choose MS.

If that means them buying up ABK before google or Amazon I'm all for it and it benefits me as a consumer.

Because legitimately the only way to make a dent in the gaming industry as it is now is to make Sony have to pay you in some manner while you invest in yourself.

Or offer something that Sony nor nintendo can offer or offer as well.

So could you reply to this statement, you and everyone else who reps Sony

The industry as a whole has become so expensive that a failed game can lead to a company going under. So most developers are hoping to get acquired. Activision wants to be bought, it's not a hostile takeover and other competing developers have all said the merger is fine so how is it the competition is fine with this but you're not?

If I go to the bungee acquisition thread will you have this same tone or nah?
this is smart tho, Sony and Bungie have a great working relationship after Microsoft hung them out to dry. Not near on the level the Actiblzz acquistion, but they got a solid studio for a fraction of the price

they would've been dumb to even THINK about coppin' Take Two

and it does move the needle because they didn't need to break the bank at all, Bungie is still relevant out here don't get it twisted
Lord Beas-itch, get yo bytch ass up outta here :laff:

THIS!!!!!!’

It’s what matt booty was saying in the emails

It is practically impossible for anyone to start a new video streaming service at scale at this point,” said Booty, referencing competitors like Google, Amazon, and Sony. Booty described content as a moat and that only Sony could really compete with Xbox Game Pass

This is what lots of them don’t understand. Or don’t want to understand.

The Console market IS NOT GROWING. Sony’s dominance literally IS consolidation. There’s no way to “buy your way” into the industry as we’ve seen big money fail time and time again. Spending huge money to try to topple the big two and scrape customers from this stagnant market is a dummy mission. There’s just not enough content available outside of what’s available on the big two for anyone to really put a dent in their dominance.

For all this talk about this merger, any analyst to talk about it has said it would not make financial sense for Microsoft to make activison games exclusive. So the biggest game on earth wouldn’t force enough people to switch from playstation to xbox, to make exclusivity worth it. It’s why the CMA even dropped the console portion of their argument. It just doesn’t make sense.

The only way spending big money makes sense is if you can expand and grow the market beyond the typical “console” player. That’s where gamepass, PC, mobile, Cloud comes in. You need content for those things, but you don’t necessarily need to foreclose content from others. And microsoft pretty much IS the only company that is in position to do it. People on here crying now, but a healthy and competing xbox will result in benefits for all, as competition should :blessed:

Man M$ got these boys confused.

"There is no financial incentive to make these games exclusive!"

Proceeds to make ZeniMax games exclusive

"A competing and healthy Xbox is great for the industry!"

Proceeds to buy up everything available to become "competitive"
