150? c'mon America we can go over 200, where's that can do spirit?:heh:
:duck:

What do working conditions have to... ah f*ck it, never mind.

Several European nations are doing well without min wage laws, nations you are quick to bring up in regards to healthcare and education.
When we get to min wage though, its China and its poor working conditions.

Ahhh...ALTERNATIVES! :ahh:
But I presented a hypothetical. The government will never (ever) stop giving tax breaks to corporations. The government has eroded the union movement both private and public. Therefore this is the most feasible route to restore government finances and in many ways stimualte the economy.

Do you understand we agree on most everything...EXCEPT the wage itself?

$15 is retarded.

Flat out.

Ain't no one out here off the street with no skills or experience or background worth $15 per hour for entry level work.

Man I cannot support an ad hominem. Economists have agendas but they do research and they compile data. The CBO has economists that compile data that is used by both sides. If you have alternative evidence to what economists present, by all means please present it.

You keep giving your opinion. 15 an hour is wage according to many that reduces the reliance of the worker on the gov to a bare minimum. Who cares what they deserve, we as the tax payers deserve not to subsidize things we don't want to.

Again i somewhat disagree.

While it would TEMPORARILY (cause we know it wont last) remove reliance on the government, it doesn't address the fact that A BARE MINIMUM MUST BE SET...not a standard.

You call it inhumane, i call it fukking life. You can't expect to make a decent living on minimum wage.

Fam I have not once ever spoken about the immorality of a minimum wage at all. I don't want this to be done based on morality but realty. The bare minimum standard should be the removal of reliance of government. McDonalds is being subsidized by the tax payer, it really isn't as profitable as it is without government assistance. I understand life is unfair and I am a pretty firm believer in markets but not social engineering through poverty wages.

You provide free healthcare from the womb to the tomb, free education from ABCs to PhDs (With stipend for students), robust social safety nets, common stipend to all from all resources of the land (controlled by the state), labor rights, collective bargaining as a fundamental right for business to exist, mandatory paid vacation and sick days, mandatory paternal/maternal paid time off, close corporate tax loop holes, raise taxes on corporations who relocate any major portion of their business overseas, environmental protection laws, campaign finance laws, and a well-kept and well-funded public transportation system...

and we can get rid of minimum wage.

Dismissing an argument isnt the same as proving it wrong or flawed. Though you seem to think it is.:mjlol:

we could implement a safety net that catches people below the poverty line, and abolish the min wage.
I think we should look at those models in Europe and build off of what they have. Strong unions(:ehh:), healthcare(:shaq2:), education(:ehh:), etc.

:camby:with that China nonsense.
