The trafficking charge isn't solely for flying women around. He was flying actual prostitutes - including male prostitutes - around the country while simutaneously preventing certain women from leaving his "services." Basically paying male escorts to fukk women while he watched. But yes, straight up prostitution is illegal in most states and as with anything else the interstate commerce laws allow feds to pop you for moving state to state doing anything illegal.

I don't see anything about children in the indictment so @spliz is right about that. Perhaps that part is unsealed but I'm not going to make that claim anymore based on the information we now have.
