Wherever nikkas need to be told on
Your right I meant. Vol 2
Oh, well, I agree. But that's not egregious. The egregious shyt is MCHG being above Vol 1. It should be before or after BP3. Then, again, this is a prime example of rappers inflating their shyt to sell records--he was promoting MCHG when he ranked these albums. Wonder if he would change the ranking, now.

can't believe he doesn't like Last Of A Dying Breed. it sounds like the situations surrounding the albums are clouding his judgment rather than the music itself. especially when it comes to the GB albums

I agree 100%. Almost seems like he's rating based on his mood/financial situation at time he was making each album as opposed to the actual music.

And finally, The Fix. Possibly your most successful LP both on a critical and commercial level. What do you think was the magic that made the album so special?
I think that my favorite album has to be The Fix because I was in a very comfortable place. Mentally, financially… I was in a great place. Def Jam really took careof me, Lyor Cohen took care of me and that’s why that great. Kanye was juststarting off and being the great producer that he is— it came out incredible.

Almost like he's saying it's his best album because he got paid well more so than because it was a dope album. Weird shyt but can't knock it if that's how he feels I guess :yeshrug:

that's just what comes with the territory. he's in there making the actual music compared to us being on the outside, just hearing the music. The Fix gave him the most financial freedom which in turn gave him more creative freedom, he didn't have to worry about certain things, he wasn't up under J Prince so he didn't have other shyt hanging over his head whether it was J's expectations or just dealing with certain cats hittin up the studio and all that.

the fix too me is a commercial ass cd..

the diary is classic face...and he was in a different zone because, big mike was killin shyt...both solo wise..and on the geto boys album...boys was in face ear..

n face had to show who was top dogg at rap-a-lot

he carried the whole album on his own..only feat was ice cube n devin...and was breakin mics

the fix is overrated n only reason he got five mics..was because..he was suckin east coast dikk...gave benzino that work on the benzino project..and redemption in return for a 1 mic..

its a 4 mic album thats all..but untouchable n the diary are back 2 back 5 mic albums

Can't wait for this album. Got a feeling it's gonna be tough. I'm surprised there's no threat for it yet.

Yeah anyone saying "The Fix" is Scarface's best album is questionable. Diary all day.

You put out your best albums when the boss' foot is in your ass. J Prince, Suge, Diddy, Dame all get a bad rep...but contrary to popular belief, this new era of DIY artistry helped with the decline of music in general. When you're under a label, your music is not your music. It's the label's music, and your music is supposed to complement the brand of the label.

The LOX hated Diddy because he had them under the shiny suit element. A label/rap group is not supposed to be multiple different artists, it's supposed to be one artist split into different people. The LOX dressing in their regular clothes and shyt for the promo of their first album would have been inconsistent to the brand Bad Boy was pushing at the time. Had them nikkas had waited 1 to 3 more years....when Bad Boy eventually got off the shiny suit shyt and went rugged (Shyne, G-Dep, Black Rob), they would have flourished in the way they want to..but rap nikkas in general are impatient and don't understand the concept of branding.

In this world you're either the boss, or you work for the boss. Another way to look at it is that everyone has a boss, and at the same time everyone works for someone. Bottom line is instead of shyt talking your boss or complaining that you're not being treated fairly or whatever, that energy needs to be put into understanding the business you're in and doing your job. Scarface is a legend but I can cosign this.
