As far as perfection and pushing rap forward, “the diary” and “the fix” are considered that. I’m a huge fan of face and the geto boys, but I wouldn’t consider his discography to be in my favorites. But he’s been doing it forever and was never afraid of learning new things, trying new things, playing his own instruments, etc.
I would say his legacy, his mind, his rhymes, his concepts, and his discography are some of the most important to hip hop. I wouldn’t say it’s he has the greatest discography in hip hop, but I would say he’s definitely one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time.

I spent a LOT of my childhood living in and around Houston (bounced back and forth from Houston to Atlanta throughout the 90’s). The fix is probably my most revisited face album ever aside from “the untouchable” and “M.A.D.E”

The Diary is definitely his most important album, and one of the most important album to hip hop. It helped show that other regions can do innovate, contribute, even excel beyond the Mecca.
