Somebody please post what this fool SAS says please

ESPN New York 98.7 LIVE

start at 11:21

Basically stating how he had to buss his ass off to get where he's at. He went on to explain his whole history and how nothing was given to him as a black man which, he holds a high as status as in the radio/journalism world. Also, mentioned how he isn't a blogger and when he started, he had to break stories before he gave his opinion on anything in journalism.

Stephen is usually c00n but I respect him for this.

im surprised so many cuts that got posted on twitter were all postive anyone notice that? Sounded like before the cuts ppl were begging espn to keep there job and take paycuts.... I bet a few will come back for a paycut just cause ESPN is considered the top of the mountain in sports media and once you leave its a downhill drop outside certain jobs. Getting into Any sporting event constantly meeting celebs and im sure dudes were smashing broads on the reg just based on being on tv and leaving that to become a local news guy is.....:francis:

Espn is finally at least admitting they dont give a fukk about hockey they should cut barry melrose bum ass

sage survived day 2 of the cuts smh
darren rovell survived smh
ryen rusillo getting a reduced role while his girl role is expanding:dead:

surprised they cut ed, andy katz and a few of those dudes

cassie hubbert survided:whew::whew:

nba wins only 2 cuts:umad::umad:

im glad ethan got the booth tho fakkit always talked cocky as fukk just cause he covered the wariors he acted as if he was part of the team.

most of those cut will get another job quick ppl at other networks may wanna call the bosses and make sure there still in good status....

Again consider the fact this is in the dead of morning. If these matches with the same clubs were on in prime time you'd see Big Ten numbers.

These numbers also don't account for streaming. I'm not saying it would have saved these jobs...i'm saying it was a miscalculation considering how well the Prem is doing on NBC with virtually no apparatus to do so.
There is nothing to consider Adult Swim pulls in the same numbers if not more at midnight with 10year old reruns. Think about that.
Its clear you like soccer thats fine, but the numbers that station put up for those games is a joke in the grand scheme of tv eyeballs.
NBCSports is playing with words,67% daily growth, nice, they are a smaller network than FS1 in terms of views after their gain.
Sometimes you just have to accept that soccer is a niche sport in the US, smaller and less profitable than NASCAR. Tastes in sports are different here and there is nothing wrong with that

But they still have games on actual broadcast networks every week. That wouldn't happen with ESPN.

Depending on the team I think it should. Manchester Derby and the North London Derby pull NUMBERS breh...and lets not even talk about how they can't broadcast El Clasico.

He paid his dues to be a loud smooth poor opinion peddler. LOL
HE knew that man was 100% right on the money and he gives a sob story about how he has earned the right to be a joke than even trying to claim he isn't one.

It's all facts tho. I remember when he was young and only had a couple of paragraphs towards the back of the paper when he was working for the NY Daily News. Dude gets on my nerves but he did earn his 3.5 million dollar salary.

Funny thing is I do agree dude does a lot of pointless screaming that reminds me of a bird but lots of people like it. Can't hate on that even if I don't like how he roll. When things change people always fight against what is the new stuff compared to what was the old norm.

I went to school for Journalism...and for as much as I think integrity and good reporting is needed....this is fukking sports breh. Its not CSPAN. Know your audience, we watch sport to get AWAY from "good journalism". And while I agree that just yelling can be tiresome, if its still based in fact, gets to the story at hand and perhaps even allude to some of the outside elements that affect sports then AWESOME. But I'm not looking for Stephen A. Smith to be Edward R. Murrow, that's what Bob Ley is for.

All of this is true, I'm just saying the demographics are changing and they failed to capitalize, and I see it being a major issue for them in the next decade.

You earn whatever someone is willing to pay you but dude is mad annoying with that screaming loud style though. Also when he takes too long to get to a point. He is a devout christian that loves his momma, blah, blah, blah, but ___________. That stuff is weak and can see why some would think he junk. At times he reminds me of what someone said about Trump. He comes off as smart to those who are stupid and those that are really smart looking at dude like nah son. He gets ratings so love him or hate him he does his job extremely well in that aspect.

Demographics seem to be changing in the way the media is being consumed, not necessarily what is being consumed.
Its the change of delivery that seems to have espn fukked.
I"m surprised they haven't tried to partner with hulu, netflix, and every streaming service available. They have the content.

A lot of people forget this but :sas1:and:skip: put the E in ESPN which is Entertainment.

If you're not entertained don't watch.

Remember when Skip left the debate show haters kept saying Stephen A would not get nearly the numbers the show got with Skip. In fact they where counting on Undisputed beating First Take because "Skip was the star of the show". Nevermind the rating for First Take with Stephen A where better than when he was off.

Because they don't make the bread from that. The money is in having a proprietary service where you control the subs, ads and content. ESPN is too big to convert wholly to that. They are a partner with Sling, but you have to have their $35 a month plan to get it.

I'm saying if ESPN said "we'll carry ALL Premier League matches on our streaming service WatchESPN" they'd CRUSH so many other sports streaming services. NBC Sports took a risk and it payed off and guess what, its a Sky Sports stream...the ONLY thing NBC is actually providing is branding and commentators and Sky does all the logistics. Really it was a great deal.

They can make money they just won't the get the profit margins they were recieving when they were bending cable and sat providers over the barrel and raping them.
Soccer streaming means nothing in this market, watchespn app is one of the highest rated apps in apple store and android. They missed small money soccer locking up big money nba contracts and college football.

As for the streaming, I think if they pulled an hbo and tried to integrate watchespn app as cable provider agnostic they might be able to adapt with the cord cutting, the issue would be cost. They would have to keep it in the 5 - 8 dollar range so it was more likely to pair with netflix and/or hulu subscriptions.
