I will also stand by the fact that not getting the Premier League rights was a HUGE blow...especially considering the numbers.

"Nearly 10 million viewers have tuned in to NBC Sports Group's Premier League coverage since Aug. 17, leading to a 67 percent daily viewership increase for NBCSN, marking the largest cable sports network growth over that span. Meanwhile, mobile viewership continues its rapid growth; fans have streamed nearly 35 million minutes via NBC Sports Live Extra over that span."

That's not to mention they had a MILLION watching the Manchester Derby last year (Man U vs Man City) at 11 in the fukkING morning on the east coast...meaning thats 7am in the west..and still pulled a million.
Logistically that just wouldn't work. The season starts around the same time as American football, and Saturdays and Sundays on ESPN are all about football. There's no way they would replace any college or NFL coverage for soccer. The Premier League would have been relegated to Deportes & WatchESPN until February.

Uptown
Marc Jackson, Antonio Davis, Bruce bowen will get bounced

Antonio Pierce and either schelerth or Jeff Saturday will get bounced
Yea wouldn't be shocked if at the start of the new NBA and MLB seasons there's a lot less of those former players around.

Shyt, with ESPN2 beginning to air MLB Network's Intentional Talk starting Monday, I wouldn't be surprised if ESPN were to eventually simulcast a show like The Starters on NBATV or something. It also sounds like ESPN is looking to get in business with those Barstool Sports dudes too.

It already is that way with NBCLiveExtra and their ancillary channels. (USA or streaming options). Right now what reason is there REALLY to use watchESPN besides baseball.

1milllion views isn't shyt for Cable.
Adult swim pulls in 1 mil views for family guy reruns at 11pm

Again consider the fact this is in the dead of morning. If these matches with the same clubs were on in prime time you'd see Big Ten numbers.

These numbers also don't account for streaming. I'm not saying it would have saved these jobs...i'm saying it was a miscalculation considering how well the Prem is doing on NBC with virtually no apparatus to do so.
