You earn whatever someone is willing to pay you but dude is mad annoying with that screaming loud style though. Also when he takes too long to get to a point. He is a devout christian that loves his momma, blah, blah, blah, but ___________. That stuff is weak and can see why some would think he junk. At times he reminds me of what someone said about Trump. He comes off as smart to those who are stupid and those that are really smart looking at dude like nah son. He gets ratings so love him or hate him he does his job extremely well in that aspect.
If you are on air talent for FOX Sports, CBS Sports,NBC Sports or any other sports network I would keep my mouth shut and not be so giddy this is happening to ESPN for this main reason.
The free agent pool is now full I won't be surprised if Ed Werder goes to NFL Network or Andy Katz goes to FOX/CBS Sports. Talented people got laid off which now means they can go elsewhere for either equal or a little less than what ESPN was paying them which would make some people at the other networks now expendable. You're really expendable if you're making high 6 to low 7 figures a year and are not bringing in the numbers or you don't do other assignments.
I watch sports because I like sports. If SAS wants to call himself an entertainer, cool. But don't tell some sob story about how you busted your ass being an actual journalist to get where you are, only to then b*stardize the profession once you become successful. Being a great journalist and being a viable television personality are not mutually exclusive things. I have my gripes with both Bomani Jones and Dan LeBatard, but they're fun to watch and also good journalists. They provide unique insights. They don't have to yell or spout words they discovered in their thesaurus that morning to distinguish themselves. Just because a bunch of idiots are willing to tune in to watch him bullshyt doesn't mean SAS is doing something great. shyt, Shannon Sharpe is eloquent, without being verbose, insightful and actually accomplished and he didn't go to school for journalism. SAS has no excuse for being a loud mouth, c00n ass nikka besides the fact he decided to be a loud mouth, c00n ass nikkaI went to school for Journalism...and for as much as I think integrity and good reporting is needed....this is fukking sports breh. Its not CSPAN. Know your audience, we watch sport to get AWAY from "good journalism". And while I agree that just yelling can be tiresome, if its still based in fact, gets to the story at hand and perhaps even allude to some of the outside elements that affect sports then AWESOME. But I'm not looking for Stephen A. Smith to be Edward R. Murrow, that's what Bob Ley is for.
All of this is true, I'm just saying the demographics are changing and they failed to capitalize, and I see it being a major issue for them in the next decade.
Not even debating about the ratings, just giving the reason why ESPN doesn't bid for European soccer leagues.Depending on the team I think it should. Manchester Derby and the North London Derby pull NUMBERS breh...and lets not even talk about how they can't broadcast El Clasico.

I HATE Stephen A Smith but I respect his grind. That dude would be on the 12 o'clock Sportscenter, there for First Take, and then available throughtout the day for radio hits and then his own radio show. Dude is a hustler.and at dudes in here CO-SIGNING Screamin' A in any capacity whatsoever.
