Not sure why these channels keep trying to hustle the newest retiree every year. It’s the NFL, no one is tuning in or out due to who’s in the booth. And at some point, if you want people watching all these pregame shows, you need a cast with some chemistry, you can’t get that swapping dudes every two years.

Anyways

Right.

We tuned in to Madden & Summerall for a thousand years.

I didn't even know Pat Summerall was a football player until I got grown :heh:

Dudes have y'all not been seeing how Disney is chopping heads off left & right?

Hell, damn near every media company is chopping heads off.

Dudes & dudettes are just lucky to have a fukkin job if they're not Stephen A., Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe, or Pat McAfee.
ESPN is dying. Streaming is killing the old model. How many people under 45 has cable? We get our information from our favorite podcast or don’t have time to look at sports babble at all.

Disney realizes this. They don’t know what their next step was for a while. Hulu/Disney plus merger should be coming soon. Where does that leave ESPN? They just did a deal to share board casting rights with Warner and NBC I believe.

All the “talent” will get chopped except for a certain few. Should the cats really be getting paid more than 500K for their “expertise”? All they do is watch sports and talk shyt on TV. Anybody can do it, few can do it well but who cares?

Under 45’s already or are migrating now. Outside of clips on insta or YouTube, the Coli is the place I get my sports from. I fool with the ringer as well.

If espn lost all their talent, it wouldn’t hurt their bottom line.

The only people worth keeping is SAS and Shannon sharpe. Everyone else can be replaced or given a smaller contract. Windhorst can be had for 500k a year. All these women can be replaced with someone new for 250k and no one would care.

Paying millions for fukking Mike Greenberg is insane in any business lmao.

I think he's with Fox. The lost Joe & Troy. Aquib wasn't calling games this past year either. Tom probably gets the #1 spot without any experience.

I think he will be good at it, he'll definitely be prepared.
He might be on anything:

The trimming at NFL Network continues as on-air personalities Melissa Stark, Andrew Siciliano, James Palmer and Will Selva are all out, an executive with direct knowledge of the moves told The Athletic.
“As is normal course of business this time of year, we are evaluating our talent roster for the upcoming 2024 season and beyond,” NFL Network spokesperson Alex Riethmiller told The Athletic. “That process results in renewals, non-renewals and additions to our talent lineup depending on programming needs. To those departing talent, we give our sincere thanks and appreciation for their hard work and contributions to NFL Media.”
Stark was part of the network’s big event coverage and remains the sideline reporter for NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.”
Siciliano was one of the main hosts on the network for years. Beginning in 2005, he gained popularity as the on-air conductor for DirecTV’s “RedZone” package before the platform lost the rights to the whip around to games to Google’s YouTube before last season.
NFL Network has been paring back costs in all sectors. It recently announced it was moving its popular show, “Good Morning Football,” from New York to its Los Angeles studios. Thus far, only Jamie Erdahl said she would go west with the program, while Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt and Jason McCourty have yet to announce their intentions. Selva provided news updates on the program, among his other roles. GMFB, which also was not sent to the Super Bowl this year, is on hiatus until it restarts again in late August.

Pat McAfee won. It’s a new day/era in Bristol, CT.

An era is over at ESPN.

Longtime network executive Norby Williamson is out effective Friday after a tenure that stretched nearly four decades, The Post has learned.

About a year ago, Burke Magnus was promoted above Williamson to become president of ESPN content.

Sources said that Magnus and Williamson did not share a vision that aligned with ESPN’s long-term strategy and that Magnus made the decision to part ways with the seasoned executive.

“Almost 40 years ago in 1985, I was so very fortunate to be offered an opportunity at ESPN,” Williamson said in a memo to ESPN staff obtained by The Post.

Due to the exceptional hard work, creativity and commitment of the people at ESPN, and to a much lesser extent my contributions, I’d like to think we’ve left our great company in a far better place than we found it.”

A search for Williamson’s replacement will begin immediately, and there will be an interim reporting structure for the team under Williamson, Magnus said in a memo sent to ESPN staff.

What's crazy is that Norby allegedly made the call to pack up Adnan Virk when he got caught leaking info to reporters, and what started his downfall was McAfee finally being the person to say on television that Norby was most likely leaking shyt himself.
