The problem that Ryan Clark is going to find himself the market for talent has been course correcting itself over the years from what it used to be outside of talent that is viewed as highly valuable and ESPN just doesn't have the bread like that right now due to Disney's financial issues along with the fact that they're about to have to pay a shytload of money for upcoming television rights. Even CFB might end up finding itself OOL with ESPN when it comes to money if they don't come down on their asking price.

It's gotta to be a downer for him though putting in all that work at ESPN and being a workhorse on multiple shows for them to only tell you that your asking price is too high, but that's business for you unfortunately. He's a reliable talent that shows up on multiple shows, so I can imagine they really want him back if the money is right.

There’s too many personalities and not enough places to put them. I 100% agree with you though. They’re definitely looking at the books over there and the rights to broadcast shyt will be more important than personalities. I like him but I can see them moving on from him if need be. I wonder if a network would take a chance on him on some Strahan or Burleson type shyt. He may not want that though.

Hold on. Shannon Sharpe got an extension? If I was Ryan I would be pissed too. I get it Shannon's brand is high. But Ryan has put in work and could talk NBA if given the opportunity. Shannon is popular because of his non sports talk. I was watching Jason Whitlock talk about him. He said Ryan Clark isn't likeable and how Shannon has comedic talent. that's he isn't authentic like Shaq, Kenny and Charles. Now i do think that Ryan has versatility to talk other sports and entertainment as he has shown in the pivot. When I look at Ryan I think he should follow the blueprints of guys like Nate Burleson and Michael Strahan. National tv, catering to a worldwide audience. Don't look at guys like Shannon Sharpe and Pat Mcafee. Those guys have built a cult following. So no matter where Pat and Shannon and probably even Stephen a. those guys can go to any network and platform and command a high salary.

Ryan Clark do come off like that friend that's corny as fukk but he's a real good dude at heart so you let it ride. Dude from I Am An Athlete actually described Ryan Clark as corny but good people. His twitter definitely screams try hard. I think he's used perfectly on NFL Live where he doesn't have to carry the load and just pops in and out of segments. I don't think he has the personality to carry a debate show with somebody else.

He was a great fit on ESPN and his podcast is popular. Him Shannon and Steven A had good chemistry. What more do they want?

Sometimes these corporations have to understand what they have. They will hire some other random retired football player to be decent but none of them have the fanbase that the pivot had. ESPN is still in the tv business but they need to focus more on the guys on YouTube. No one watches first take live unless it’s on at their job

It’s not far fetched, even if it comes from a self hating fat fukk like Whitlock. I’ve met a handful of brothas in journalism who don’t too much care for him. Don’t know the extent of their interactions with him but they do exist. Had glowing things to say about Chan tho.

I feel it could be more of a budget issue with all the shyt they’re paying for with SEC, NBA, CFP plus the talent contract renewals like Chris Russo, Shannon Sharpe, etc.

And with all of his own success, Ryan might feel he has a price. But maybe the timing isn’t ideal to get the offer he wants.

:jbhmm:

I just made that whole scenario up and could be way off anyway.
