Serious question, why do you all ever expect to have any serious conversation in TLR? I thought it was well understood since beginning it was a place strictly for jokes.

That may have been what it was initially intended to be but as the coli average age range has gotten to the 30+ range, more and more brehs are prone to talking about politics, which on its face isn't necessarily a bad thing. What is bad, however, is that the average TLR poster isn't intelligent enough to adequately converse on these issues. Basically they gravitate to the lowest common denominator in their politics (love for fascism, respect for authoritarianism) not because they necessarily want to, but because the high ideals of democracy are too complex for them to adequately grasp. And so when they come to TLR, everyone there is mostly gravitating to the worst of political takes, and it becomes an echo chamber that further cements these bad habits and ideas, which those brehs will take with them in their offline lives.

On some level, there needs to be some method of combating it. Not to mention, TLR is the most viewed forum of thecoli. If you allow it to become a right wing haven with no push back, then they will potentially accidentally indoctrinate others including lurkers who just don't know any better.

Where the hell are they getting all this money to give Ukraine from?

And they approved to spend 13.6 billion against Russian agression in Ukraine? like wtf.

It’s not so much money but Equipment sitting in Europe and home that will be moved or diverted from something (usually upgrades, being mothballed, etc). We used to have multiple Armor/Mechanized divisions in Europe but now it’s just a fraction of that with an Airborne Infantry Brigade, some arty battalions, and sustainment units (to facilitate and fast track incoming units if the need to quickly ramp up numbers comes up). A lot of that old equipment is still sitting around getting tinkered on or refitted. We also have a lot shyt sitting in America that’s easier to move than A bunch of Apc’s, IFV’s, and Tanks. Those are the AT/AA systems and personnel equipment that keeps coming up in the news.

Thanks for explaining this, breh. It makes all the sense in the world but I and I'm sure others never considered this.

Meant to chime in when you guys were talking about the t-14 so I was scrolling through threads last week and some of the guys were saying it went through so many changes that its transmission and engine can no longer supports its weight not sure if that’s true or not but they were supposed to have 2000 by now but have less than 100 total

NYT broke down how the 13.6 billion is being spent: Visualizing the $13.6 Billion in U.S. Spending on Ukraine.

Whats more crazy is that the white house asked for 10 billion, but they threw an extra 3.6 billion on it.

EU member states contributed a combined 2.9 billion between 24 february to 27 march. The US is spending more on a European war then the entire EU is. Thats insane. While the homeless population in the US is increasing.
