Finally heard tha new joint.

I like RTJ but im not a big fan. This records cements why.

Mike stepped up his lyrics on this one....he did his thing...no complaints

The beats are much better on this. The last one was too bleepy bloopy MMA gym music sounding.
This one is a little more under control and with a little more pace and measure....so far so good

But El-P's lyrics and flow are as :scust: as ever. He's not totally terrible but he adds NOTHING vocally. He just detracts from Mike. For example on Down, joi and mike come thru and have tha song sounding soulful and rich and then El-P caccs it up rambling about some BS.

Him on tha mic is why i will never fully get behind RTJ. I fucc with this record fully besides his vocals

Been listening to this for a couple of days now. This shyt is hard. Don't see why the hate. As far as EL-P, the only verse I didnt like was on the first song. He felt kinda out of place.

I would be cool with it if Zach de la Rocha came in on RTJ4 as Killer Mikes other side of the coin and EL came in ever so often on tracks and focused on production completely. zach and mike got these two very distinct textures that blend so well together. Makes me want to take a sledgehammer to a fukkin wall.

I figured :martin: Killer Mike is my guy, but there's several other notable producers he could have linked with to make 3 consecutive albums. Station Selektah and Nottz are the first two I can think of. El-P beats as of late honestly just sound bad straight up.

Statik Selektah over EL-P...? :heh:

I can pick multiple beats off those random compilations and collabs Statik Selektah does that are better than tons of El-P beats. And after listening to this album a while ago, it only confirms my original post of this being another great concept, dope lyric-filled album over shytty beats.
