You’re saying the Timberwolves is closer to the east than Memphis and New Orleans?

I’m saying Memphis and New Orleans are geographically closer to the East coast than Minnesota, but Minnesota is in much closer proximity to other East teams than they are to other West teams

The five closest teams to Minnesota are all in the East. Memphis is closest to Atlanta but after that it’s West teams: New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, OKC

Not to mention that Minnesota’s rivals in other sports are all in the East and you can add on to that

The Grizzlies play on the other end of their state. OKC is on the other side. Same difference between Nola and Houston
It’s not about distance. It’s about common geographic sense. Entire states and regions root for teams. You’re arguing to move teams based on length of time or whatever and we’re all talking about what naturally makes sense based on region and literally every other sport. In NFL - Chicago, Minnesota, Detroit and Wisconsin are in the same division. In college football they’re all in the same division, in MLB they’re all in the same division and so forth. The original Minneapolis Lakers were literally in the “central division” with Chicago and Detroit. Memphis doesn’t have that clear regional connection nor history. The only reason Minnesota was not placed in the East was to balance conferences when 4 expansion teams were added at once.

Your argument is about history with teams from other leagues in other sports. Who cares about that? The only valid argument is travel.

I’m arguing about travel :dahell:

Minneapolis is a hour flight from Milwaukee, and between an hour and 30-40 min from Chicago, Detroit and Indianapolis and 2 hrs from Cleveland. No other West teams are that close to them. They’re basically on an island. I don’t get how this is going over your head

The part about rivalries in other leagues is just a bonus.

Flight from NO to Atlanta is 1h and 30m roughly around the same difference between Minnesota to Indy or Cleveland or Detroit.

NBA players barely want to come to Charlotte, why would they want to play in Raleigh :mjlol:

well NBA players wanna go to 4-5 places and God forbid a couple of those places have 2 teams

While y’all bullshytting

NBA in Raleigh would probably blow up cuz that’s Basketball Mecca.

Imagine you have NC State, Duke, Carolina, and then the Raleigh Super Sonics:mjgrin: all up there.

shyt would be crazy!!! Then add Carolina hockey team!

NC would be:blessed:

That’s a fair point but that would also apply to Memphis and New Orleans too.
It wouldn’t cause at least New Orleans is close to all the teams in their division. Minny is close to nobody in the west as currently presented.
