I think it's more so that he didn't know exactly what they had. All he really saw was some running and some firing back.
Wait that doesn't make sense to me he knew about the stolen plans that shyt was right before the beginning of a new hope.

Just saw this today, with my younger sister and really enjoyed it :obama:. She's not heavy into the Star Wars lore, but she liked it a lot as well and thought it was easier to follow along with than Force Awakens.

Good to see my man Donnie Yen get some shine in this "The Force is with me" :blessed:, inspired his buddy as well

Hadn't really seen Diego Luna before, same for Felicity Jones, thought they did a good job :ehh:

Liked the Droid character a lot.

Nas winding locked up again :skip:

That ending :wow:

Some nitpick questions:

Did it bother anyone that K2 was reprogrammed by Cassian, and then disobeyed him constantly. Also when they asked K2 to escort the prisoners, the droid's inability to come up with a slick and competent response was so un-droid like. Why wouldn't an imperial droid know how to respond to a simple request like that?

Eryso got caught sending messages to the rebellion, Darth Vader was skeptical about it not being compromised, and then the rebels died trying to steal the Death Star plans. After all of that, why would the Empire continue using the Death Star? Wouldn't they be suspicious or worried it was booby trapped or flawed?

Did it bother anyone else that Jyn essentially revealed her dad's entire plan to Krennic on the bridge?

How did Cassian get up and jump into the vent that shuts and closes every few seconds when he was limping like that? :troll:

Matter of fact, how did Jyn and Cassian get to the beach so fast when the tower they were on was the first thing hit by the Death Star?

OK, that's all my nitpicks. Still love it.

A rebellion homie. The empire exists because Palpatine wanted to be all powerful and consolidate power under his watch. That happened in revenge of the sith. But even then he still had the imperial senate to answer to and the Death Star's construction was the end of that. It's all about power. Ruling the galaxy. Do whatever you need to do to be all powerful and stop at nothing to get it. At this point they're fighting to stop a rebellion and show that with their might, no one can stop them. They want to rule every inch of the galaxy and at this point they don't. As long as the rebels are around there will be a contingent of people who say they can be beaten. They want the rebels wiped out

Yes. In A NEW HOPE, Tarkin stated that the Emperor personally terminated the Senate for good due to the completion of the Death Star.

Saw this last night and it's safe to say that this was a top three Star Wars flick. Rogue One shows how you can build off the original movies without being a derivative rehash of them, and it film brings additional context that makes me appreciate a New Hope even more.

I love all the easter eggs they managed to sneak in; Red Leader, the Rebels references, the criminals from the Cantina in A New Hope, I was disappointed there was no Porkins though:francis:

Director Danny Krennic Solo was looking fly as hell with that white cape:wow:

Lord Vader showing why he is worthy of worship:ohlawd:

The visuals of the final battle:whoo: Almost makes me want to spend that money to get the Battlefront Scarif DLC.

All in all, it wasn't perfect but I really enjoyed it and it managed to wash the bad taste of TFA out of my mouth. The sacrifices made in Rogue One makes the progress of the Rebellion being reset in TFA hurt even more.
